PANTON — Vermont State Police are investigating several reports of burglaries, unlawful mischief and suspicious vehicles in the Lake Street and Arnold Bay Road neighborhoods of Panton during the month of June.
On June 25, VSP troopers met with Panton residents to hear their concerns and advise them how to protect their property.
The reported crimes included three break-ins during which nothing was apparently stolen.
Local residents reported seeing at least one suspicious vehicle in the area. That vehicle is described as a dark-colored truck with a wood or panel bed on it, possibly with a rack in the bed extending over the cab area and a yellow light on top.
Residents asked questions about game cameras and their effectiveness in capturing criminal activity or suspects involved in criminal activity. Troopers agreed that such cameras would be a useful tool. As a result, the Panton community will be using game cameras to assist in catching those involved with the above-listed crimes.
