FAYSTON — A Starksboro man died after driving his vehicle into a telephone pole off Route 17 in Fayston on Tuesday evening.
Jonah Rule, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.
Vermont State Police said they were called to the scene of a one-car crash on Route 17 at around 8 p.m. There, they found a white, 2008 Subaru Impreza overturned on its roof off the south side of the roadway.
Investigators believe the vehicle left the southern side of the roadway, collided with a telephone pole, and proceeded to overturn, causing the vehicle to become entangled in the electrical wires.
Police contacted Green Mountain Power to shut off the power supply, thereby allowing rescue personnel to approach the vehicle and determine that Mr. Rule had not survived the accident.
Rule’s body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
