ADDISON COUNTY — On Wednesday, May 30, at 2:40 a.m. Vermont State Police checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at an auto dealer/repair shop in New Haven Junction. The shop was closed.

The trooper found the driver, identified as Ryan Doody, 36, of Woodland, Maine, asleep at the wheel with the engine running, the vehicle in drive and his foot on the brake. Doody immediately denied being the one operating the vehicle.

A check by the trooper showed Doody’s Maine driver’s license is suspended. Doody maintained that he was not driving and offered a name of a person who was driving, and yet that person was not anywhere on scene. The passenger in the vehicle said that Doody was driving.

Doody eventually admitted that he was the driver, and was arrested and charged with providing false information to a police officer. He was subsequently released with a citation to answer the charge in Addison Criminal Court.
