Happy birthday!

MEMBERS OF THE Wood/Dow family came to Middlebury from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, West Virginia and Vermont on Sept. 15 to celebrate the centennial of the Wood Brothers Orchard, which was planted 100 years ago on land at the corner of Case Street and Quarry Road. In addition to posing for a group portrait, in which each member wore one of the cider labels that the Woods used to put on the cider jugs, family members worked together to make cider — washing, cutting, pressing, and pouring the tasty drink.
