MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police received a report of extensive vandalism to vehicles operating in a gravel pit off Case Street on April 23. Anyone with information on this crime should call Middlebury police at 388-3191.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Served a no-trespass order on April 22 on a woman who had refused to leave McDonald’s Restaurant.

•  Assisted Middlebury firefighters as they dealt with a brush fire off Halladay Road on April 22.

•  Cited George Mulcahy, 18, of Middlebury for excessive speed, after police said they clocked him traveling 84 miles per  hour in a 40 mph zone on Cady Road on April 22.

•  Responded to a leaving-the-scene-of-an-accident complaint in the Mill Street area on April 22.

•  Served a relief from abuse order on a man following their investigation of a domestic disturbance at a Case Street residence on April 22.

•  Served a temporary restraining order on April 22 on a person who was not wanted at a Quarry Road residence.

•  Assisted Vermont State Police in responding to a report of a car off the road and in the water off Swamp Road in Cornwall on April 23.

•  Investigated a report of a purported census-taker in the Case Street area on April 23. Police could not locate the woman.

•  Assisted TJ Maxx and a caregiver with a customer who would not voluntarily leave at the store’s closing time on April 23.

•  Mailed a civil violation notice for littering to a person who had allegedly left trash bags along North Branch Road.

•  Investigated a fraud complaint lodged by a Seymour Street resident on April 24. The victim reported that he was in the process of obtaining a personal loan from a loan company. The victim had paid a sum of money for the loan processing, and a male representing the loan company had requested additional money prior to processing the loan. Investigation revealed it was a legitimate loan company in name, however, a company representative indicated they had no offices in the state of Vermont. Police contacted the alleged salesperson, who hung up on the investigating officer. Further investigation has revealed that there is no business at the address the man provided to the victim.

•  Responded to a report that someone had driven away from the Middlebury Short Stop on Court Street without paying for gasoline on April 24.

•  Investigated a report of a person who had failed to return 11 rented videos to a local Washington Street business on April 24.

•  Searched in vain for a van that had reportedly been operating erratically on North Pleasant Street on April 25.

•  Responded to an unlawful mischief complaint at an Airport Road residence on April 25.

•  Interviewed a Route 7 North resident who said a man came into his home uninvited on April 25. Police said the uninvited guest had asked the resident if he could place traps on his property.

•  Cited Jerry Dunbar, 24, of Bridport for a criminal count of driving with a suspended license, on College Street, on April 26.

•  Investigated a larceny complaint in the Main Street area on April 26.

•  Remanded, to Middlebury College Public Safety, a drunken college student who was seen publicly urinating in the College Street area on April 26.

•  Were informed of the theft of some fishing equipment from a Mill Street shed on April 26. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Middlebury police at 388-3191.

•  Received a report that someone had stolen a brown Raleigh mountain bike from the driveway of a Fairview Circle home on April 26.

•  Assisted Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department officials in removing a bear cub from the Upper Plains Road area and relocating it to Ripton on April 26.

•  Were informed that someone had fired a BB gun at a window of a home in the South Street Extension neighborhood on April 27.

•  Investigated a landlord-tenant dispute at an Airport Road residence on April 27.

•  Investigated a report of a disoriented elderly person on Weybridge Street on April 27. Police said the man was taken by ambulance to Porter Hospital.

•  Responded to a report of a vehicle window being damaged by a BB or pellet gun on Mill Street on April 27.

•  Quieted a noisy party at a South Main Street residence on April 28. Police said a youth at the party was served court diversion paperwork for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

•  Served court diversion paperwork on a youth seen drinking a beer on Hillcrest Avenue on April 28.

•  Assisted Middlebury College Public Safety with an intoxicated student on campus on April 28. Police said they took the student to Porter Hospital, where he was served court diversion paperwork for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

•  Responded to a domestic dispute at an Airport Road residence on April 28.

•  Assisted a local man who was having mental health issues on April 28.
