MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police arrested three people on June 3 in connection with “several incidents of theft of metal (to be turned in for cash)” and theft of a purse from Earth Waste Management on Route 7 South. Police cited 49-year-old Robert Miller of Ripton, Jacob Bachand, 20, of Bristol and Alexander Vincent, 37, of Middlebury for grand larceny and possession of stolen property.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Warned a North Pleasant Street resident who had been setting off fireworks in the North Pleasant Street area on June 3.

• Launched an investigation into a fraud complaint lodged by a woman in the Main Street area on June 3. The woman alleged that a man overseas had defrauded her of around $18,000, according to police.

•  Responded to two separate domestic disturbances at a John Graham Court home on June 4.

•  Cited a juvenile student for being in possession of marijuana at Middlebury Union High School on June 4.

•  Investigated a theft complaint in the Mill Street area on June 4.

•  Responded to a report of someone trying to use a fake identification card to make a purchase at Hannaford Supermarket on June 5.

•  Were informed that a flat-screen TV was missing from a Middlebury College building on June 5.

•  Cited Michael Cordoba, 22, of Cornwall for possession of marijuana and a criminal count of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop on Washington Street on June 5.

•  Investigated a truancy complaint in the Deerfield Lane area on June 5.

•  Ticketed a man for being a passenger with an open container of alcohol after he was seen getting into a vehicle parked off College Street on June 5. He was also given a warning for public urination, according to police.

•  Responded to a report of a child behavior problem at a John Graham Court residence on June 6.

•  Investigated a report of a stolen/forged check being cashed at the Vermont Federal Credit Union on June 6.

•  Responded to a report of inappropriate sexual behavior at a Deerfield Lane home on June 6. Police referred the matter to state officials.

•  Helped Porter Hospital officials find a mental health patient who had escaped custody on June 6.

•  Cited Ben Webb, 29, of Ripton for a criminal count of driving with a suspended license on Washington Street on June 7.

•  Investigated a report of an out-of-control child damaging a John Graham Court residence on June 7. The child was referred to his probation officer, according to police.

•  Assisted a Mead Lane resident who had been receiving harassing phone calls on June 7.

•  Received a report of two juveniles throwing eggs in the Shaw’s Supermarket off Washington Street on June 8.

•  Assisted Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association staff with a combative patient on June 8. The woman was taken to Porter Hospital.

•  Were informed that someone had stolen a wallet from a vehicle parked off Jackson Lane on June 8.

•  Received a report that someone had stolen a purse from Mister Up’s Restaurant on June 8.

•  Helped a couple resolve a child custody dispute at a School House Hill Road residence on June 8.

•  Searched in vain on June 9 for a truck allegedly containing drunken occupants traveling on Case Street.

•  Cited Kenneth Henderson, 33, of Middlebury for simple assault, following an investigation of a fight outside a Seymour Street residence on June 9.

•  Assisted a caregiver who was having a problem with a client in The Centre parking lot off Court Street on June 9.

•  Were informed of the theft of a suitcase from outside of Greg’s Meat Market off Macintyre Lane on June 9.

•  Investigated a report of a child injuring himself after running his bike into a parked car on Seymour Street on June 9.

•  Investigated a report of vandalized equipment at the Champlain Construction gravel pit off Case Street on June 10.
