MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Amber Wood, 31, of Middlebury, for simple assault, after allegedly striking her child on July 8. Police said Wood was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

• Cited a local woman on July 8  for entering Shaw’s Supermarket on Washington Street in violation of a no-trespass order.

• Responded to a domestic disturbance at a South Pleasant Street residence on July 9.

• Investigated a report of fireworks being set off in the Brookside Drive area on July 9.

• Responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 7 north. Police said one person was taken to Porter Hospital to be treated for minor injuries on July 9.

• Assisted a Seminary Street Extension resident who reported smoke entering her home from an adjacent campfire on July 10.

• Referred to the Addison County State’s Attorney’s office a case involving a local woman who allegedly violated a temporary restraining order on July 10.

• Assisted Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association officials in calming an uncooperative family member at an East Main Street residence on July 10.

• Launched an investigation into an alleged assault in the Route 7 south area on July 10.

• Checked on the safety of a young woman who had allegedly expressed a desire to harm herself on July 11.

• Referred a Cross Street resident to help through the Counseling Service of Addison County on July 11.

• Investigated a burglary at a Blake Roy Road home on July 11. Police said someone entered the basement of the home while the homeowner was away and removed 20-30 feet of copper piping. Police said they have no suspects at this time.

• Turned over, to Vermont State Police, a man who had been operating a Pepsi truck erratically on July 11.

• Responded to a report of a man yelling at people in the Court Street area on July 11. Police said the man had been seeking shelter from the rain and agreed to leave the area.

• Served a no-trespass order on a man on July 12 who was not wanted at Maplefield’s on North Pleasant Street.

• Received a report that someone had stolen money from a Valley View resident’s wallet on July 12.

• Received, from a local resident, some packets of powder that he had deemed suspicious on July 12. Police said the packets were filled with a cleanser used to kill fish fungus in aquariums.

• Took a suicidal woman to Porter Hospital for some counseling help on July 13.

• Cited Christopher Shores, 19, of Middlebury, for driving with a suspended license (criminal count) following a traffic stop on Court Street on July 13.

• Responded, with rescue officials, to a one-vehicle crash off Seymour Street Extension on July 13. Police said a man involved in the crash was treated for minor injuries at Porter Hospital.

• Assisted a woman who reported receiving harassing calls from her ex-boyfriend on July 13.

• Investigated the alleged assault of a local man in the North Pleasant Street area on July 13.

• Got mental health counseling for a Cross Street man on July 13 after receiving multiple false crime reports.

• Served no-trespass orders on July 13 on some customers who were not wanted at Two Brothers Tavern.

• Got some mental health counseling for a local man who falsely reported some “suspicious activity” behind his Cross Street residence on July 14.

• Responded to a reported landlord-tenant dispute at a Cross Street residence on July 14.

• Assisted a Jayne Court resident who reported receiving harassing text messages on July 14.

• Responded to a noise complaint in the Weybridge Street area on July 14.
