MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police responded to a Colonial Drive home on July 17 on a report of a woman injured by her own vehicle. Police said the woman had been experiencing mechanical problems with her car but was able to bring it to a stop at the crest of her driveway.

As she was trying to diagnose the problem near the rear of the vehicle, the car began to roll backward and knocked her to the ground before it stopped at an embankment alongside the driveway, police said.

Fortunately, the woman’s injuries were minor and she was released after receiving treatment at Porter Hospital, according to authorities.
