BRISTOL — On Aug. 8, Bristol police responded to reported vandalism at a village residence. The resident alleged that male juveniles had shot numerous holes into the home’s siding. Police are working to identify the suspects.

On Aug. 7, 10 and 13, Bristol police checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School. Officers conducted foot patrols on Main Street and in the surrounding area on Aug. 7, 8, 11 and 13. And between Aug. 7 and Aug. 13, Bristol police processed four fingerprint requests for employment purposes.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  Reported that they had initiated an investigation into reported narcotic offenses in July.

•  Served several subpoenas for an upcoming hearing before the Addison Superior Court, on Aug. 7.

•  Assisted in a child custody exchange on Aug. 7.

•  Responded to the Route 116/Burpee Road area on a reported erratic driver on Aug. 7. An officer patrolled the area, but was unable to locate the vehicle.

•  Conducted traffic control in the construction zone on West Street while repairs were being made after heavy rains, on Aug. 7.

•  Investigated a damaged window at a district residence on Aug. 8. Police found no evidence that the damage related to criminal activity.

•  Took a report of property damage caused by a neighbor’s animal on Aug. 8. Police logged the incident and advised the complainant about civil options.

•  Began investigating a reported sex offense facilitated by use of the internet on Aug. 8.

•  Met with a Montreal man who reported his vehicle had been forcibly entered and items stolen, including an iPad, on Aug. 10. Police are working to identify suspect(s).

•  Received a wallet found in a parking spot at the front of the town park on Aug. 10 at 11:31 a.m. The owner later recovered the wallet with the contents still in it.

•  Checked the Bristol Elementary School on Aug. 10.

•  Were notified of an alarm going off at the Bristol town office on Aug. 11. The alarm was found to be false.

•  Began investigating a reported theft from a district business on Aug. 11.

•  Received a set of keys (including a Subaru key and three others) found at the intersection of Main and North streets on Aug. 11. Police are looking for the owner.

•  Began investigating a check written to a local business on a closed account on Aug. 11.

•  Received a cell phone and sunglasses found at Bartlett Falls on Aug. 12. Police identified and contacted the owner.

•  Conducted a directed patrol on Burpee Road at the intersection of Stoney Hill Road on Aug. 12. Police issued one ticket for an unsafe start from a parked vehicle.

•  Assisted Vermont State Police by checking on a Rockydale Road residence after repeated 911 hang-ups on Aug. 13. Police found no emergency.

•  Responded to a reported animal being left in a vehicle in a business parking lot at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 13. Police contacted the owner and educated him/her about the risks of leaving an animal in a vehicle. The animal showed no signs of distress.

•  Responded to a report of a possible dog in distress behind MAUHS on Aug. 13. An officer checked the area, but no dog was located.

•  Spoke with the mother of a 16-year-old who was refusing to come home on Aug. 13 at 11:55 p.m. An officer located and spoke with the juvenile, who then went home.
