MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police assisted Middlebury Regional EMS with a patient with self-inflicted (non-life threatening) knife wounds in the Washington Street area on Sept. 16.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

• Responded to a family argument at a Main Street residence on Sept. 11.

• Were informed of the theft of some furniture from a Colonial Drive home on Sept. 11.

• Issued Court Diversion paperwork to a Middlebury College student for possession of alcohol on Cross Street on Sept. 11.

• Were informed a dog had charged a possible rabid raccoon in front of the Co-op Insurance building on Washington Street Extension on Sept. 12. Police couldn’t find the raccoon.

• Received a report about a calf wandering near the intersection of Case Street and Leno Lane on Sept. 12. Police said the animal was retrieved by staff at the Addison County Commission Sales.

• Responded to a landlord-tenant dispute at a Piper Road home on Sept. 12.

• Responded to a littering complaint on Buttolph Drive on Sept. 13.

• Spoke with a Valley View Road resident who reported someone had stolen her television on Sept. 13.

• Responded to a report of cows wandering on Munger Street on Sept. 13. Police said workers at the nearby Butler Farm corralled the animals.

• Extinguished a camp fire that someone had set off of Maple Street on Sept. 14.

• Disposed of some used hypodermic needles that someone had found on High Street on Sept. 14.

• Investigated a report of someone wanting to leave a Court Street store without paying for merchandise on Sept. 14. Police said the suspect was a mentally challenged resident who ultimately did not take any property.

• Warned the hosts of a loud party at a Seymour Street Extension home on Sept. 15 to quiet things down.

• Helped Porter Hospital officials with a suicidal patient on Sept. 15.

• Responded to a family dispute at a Seminary Street residence on Sept. 15. Police said a child was allegedly being disrespectful to her mom.

• Cited Karen Ferlito, 54, of Bristol, for retail theft, after she allegedly tried to leave the Hannaford Supermarket without paying for some items on Sept. 15.

• Quieted a noisy tenant at a Shannon Street residence on Sept. 16.

• Responded to a fireworks complaint in the Jayne Court neighborhood on Sept. 16.

• Received a report about someone sitting in a crosswalk on Main Street on Sept. 16.

• Responded to separate noise complaints in the South Main Street and Weybridge Street neighborhoods on Sept. 16. The complaints involved loud parties, according to police.

• Assisted a Piper Road resident who reported being threatened by her ex-husband on Sept. 16.

• Helped Porter Hospital officials with a psychiatric patient who was attempting to leave the premises on Sept. 16.

• Assisted Porter Hospital officials with an out-of-control patient on Sept. 16.

• Responded to a report on Sept. 17 of a person trying to enter vehicles parked on Merchants Row. People were unable to find the suspect.

• Helped Vermont State Police look for a missing woman in the South Main Street area on Sept. 17.

• Investigated a suspected case of vandalism to a vehicle that had been parked in the Monarch Court area on Sept. 17.

• Were informed someone had used a beer bottle to vandalize a vehicle parked off College Street on Sept. 17.

• Helped state police get control of a drunken, suicidal man in the North Branch Road area on Sept. 17.
