BRISTOL — On Nov. 14, Bristol police arrested Aaron Orbit Gould, 28, of Bristol and cited him for failing to register as a sex offender. Gould had moved from the address he’d listed with the Vermont Sex Offender Registry and had failed to notify the appropriate agencies in the required time.

Gould had been convicted of a separate Sex Offender Registry violation in September.

After arraignment on this latest charge, Gould was released on conditions imposed by the court.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  Conducted morning and afternoon foot patrols on Main Street and on Mountain Street and in areas near Bristol Elementary School on Nov. 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17.

•  Check security at Mount Abraham Union High School on Nov. 13, 14, 15, 16 and 19.

•  Processed fingerprints on Nov. 14, 15, 16 and 17, for four individuals total.

•  Began investigating a report of the theft of medication on Nov. 13.

•  Conducted 30 minutes of town-contracted traffic patrol on Nov. 14, issuing one ticket for speeding and one for a stop sign violation.

•  Began investigating a Nov. 14 report of an assault involving two juveniles.

•  Took mandatory annual first aid training on Nov. 15.

•  Assisted Vermont State Police with an interview related to an investigation on Nov. 15.

•  Began investigating a Nov. 16 report that a Bristol resident had been threatened by another resident on Nov. 9.

•  Conducted 45 minutes of town-contracted traffic patrol along Monkton Road on Nov. 15. Police issued one ticket for speeding.

•  Assisted state police with a domestic dispute in Bristol but outside the police district on Nov. 16. Bristol police helped interview persons present, and then turned the information over to VSP.

•  Responded to a complaint that parked vehicles were obstructing traffic on Nov. 16. Police located the driver of one of the vehicles, who then moved the car.

•  Received a report on Nov. 16 that a hit-and-run accident had occurred at around 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, on School Street. Anyone who has information on this accident is asked to call Bristol police at 453-2533.

•  Completed 20 minutes of town-contracted traffic patrol on Burpee Road on Nov. 16.

•  Participated in a routine school meeting regarding resources on Nov. 16.

•  Responded to a South Street residence for a dispute between roommates at 12:25 a.m. on Nov. 17. Later the same night, at 3:04 a.m., police were again dispatched to the same residence, where the dispute had escalated to a loud argument inside and outside the apartment. Police warned the roommates that their actions could lead to arrest for disorderly conduct. Both roommates agreed to stay away from each other and discuss the issues at a more reasonable time. Police were not called back.

•  Received a report at 11:24 p.m. on Nov. 17 of dogs occasionally running loose on Hardscrabble Road. No dogs were running loose at the time of the report, so police will share the information with Bristol’s dog warden to determine the best course of action.

•  Served judicial summons for two ongoing cases on Nov. 17.

•  Received a judicial summons for an ongoing court matter on Nov. 17. Police will serve the summons once the subject is located.

•  Responded to a reported family fight at a Mountain Street residence at 11:16 p.m. on Nov. 18. Police determined that no assaults had occurred within the jurisdiction of the Bristol police district, and calmed the situation. Then, at 12:24 a.m., Bristol police were again contacted from the residence. Police spoke with the complainant and calmed the situation. At 12:45 a.m., police received a third call from the Mountain Street residence. This time, police spoke with all parties and advised them of their options for resolving the dispute.
