MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police were informed of the theft of some firearms from a Quarry Road home on Jan. 4. Police said they found no signs of forced entry into the home.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Received a call on Jan. 1 from a California resident who alleged he had received a call from a Middlebury woman who reported being suicidal. Police traced the suicidal caller’s number to New Mexico, and informed the pertinent law enforcement officials.

•  Helped a man who was having a mental health crisis on the Cross Street Bridge on Jan. 2. Police took the man to Porter Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

•  Restored calm on Jan. 2 at McDonald’s Restaurant, where police said an employee had refused to serve a customer who had been asked to leave.

•  Issued Court Diversion paperwork on a man found in possession of marijuana while sitting in a vehicle parked illegally at Mary Hogan Elementary School on Jan. 3.

•  Helped a driver who had skidded off Quarry Road on Jan. 4.

•  Responded to a report of a tractor-trailer truck becoming stuck in the snow on Main Street on Jan. 4.

•  Interviewed a local student who alleged two men had chased him down the railroad tracks off Water Street on Jan. 4.

•  Helped the Addison County Sheriff's Department serve an arrest warrant on a man in the Wilmar Road area on Jan. 4.

•  Responded to a report of a drunken man causing a disturbance at a Butternut Ridge Drive residence on Jan. 4. Police said the resident allowed the man to remain at the home.

•  Checked on a vehicle that had gone off of Route 30 in Cornwall on Jan. 6.

•  Responded to the untimely death of a Quesnel Lane residence on Jan. 7. Police identified the deceased as 47-year-old Kevin Quesnel. Police said their preliminary investigation indicates Quesnel died of an overdose, but the final determination will be made by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Burlington.

•  Helped Middlebury Regional EMS officials with an intoxicated patient on Water Street on Jan. 7.

•  Enforced the town’s winter parking ban on Bakery Lane and College Street during the early morning hours of Jan. 7.

•  Investigated a suspected water main break on Weybridge Street on Jan. 7.
