MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury Police assisted a local man who on Aug. 3 claimed he had been threatened by another man in the Maple Street area on Aug. 3. Police are investigating the incident.

In other action last week, Middlebury Police:

• Investigated a report of a man exhibiting some “unwanted, inappropriate behavior” toward a woman working at the Inn on the Green on South Pleasant Street on July 30. Police said they’re trying to identify the man and will then serve him with a no-trespass order.

• Received a report on July 30 about a woman allegedly using someone else’s debit card to deposit empty envelopes at area ATMs. The matter remains under investigation.

• Tracked down a woman who had driven away from a Court Street filling station on July 30 with a gas nozzle still in her tank, thus damaging the gas pump. Police said the woman provided her insurance information to the filling station.

• Middlebury police converged, along with other emergency responders, to a River Road location in Bristol where an Addison County Sheriff’s Department deputy had experienced a medical emergency at around 4:45 p.m. on July 31.

• Investigated a car accident at the intersection of Court Street and South Village Green on Aug. 1. Police said one person sustained minor injuries in the accident.

• Turned over, to Middlebury College Public Safety, a drunken man who had refused to leave a business in the Main Street area on Aug. 2.

• Interviewed a Middlebury College worker who reported some money missing from her home off South Main Street on Aug. 2.

• Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS officials with a medical call on Middlebury College’s Chateau Road on Aug. 2.

• Were informed someone had stolen an inspection sticker from a vehicle parked at G. Stone Motors on Route 7 south on Aug. 2.

• Responded to a report of an unruly customer at People’s Bank off Court Street Extension on Aug. 2.

• Investigated the alleged theft of some merchandise from a convenience store on Court Street on Aug. 2.

• Served a no-trespass order on a local man on Aug. 3 who was not wanted at Hannaford’s Supermarket.

• Investigated a report of someone moving a Rogers Road resident’s flowers into her driveway on Aug. 4.

• Warned a man who was driving a lawn tractor down Route 7 south on Aug. 4.

• Assisted an Addison County Transit Resources driver with a passenger who was confused about where she was going on Aug. 4.

• Were informed of the alleged theft of some items from behind an Exchange Street business on Aug. 4.

• Received a report about an alleged home invasion and fight in progress at a Court Street home on Aug. 4. Police said it was a false alarm and the resident was having some mental health problems.

• Responded to a reported dispute between some Case Street neighbors on Aug. 5.

• Helped mediate a dispute between some North Pleasant Street neighbors on Aug. 5.

• Interviewed a local man on Aug. 5 who said his ex-wife hasn’t been allowing him to visit their child.

• Assisted a local parent in talking to her child on Aug. 5 about the dangers of misusing social media.
