ADDISON COUNTY — On March 23 at about 11:45 a.m. Vermont State Police were notified of a 911 hang up call.

Through investigation troopers said they found that Jody Bartlett, 42, of Bristol had thrown a glass bottle out of his vehicle striking a neighbor’s mailbox; and that Bartlett continuously drove his vehicle past the complainant’s residence off Route 116 in Bristol honking his horn and yelling profanities.

Bartlett was cited to appear in Addison District Court to answer to the charges of disorderly conduct.

Goodfellow had been known to wander off in the past, and his caretaker had searched the area for several hours before contacting the VSP. Personnel from the Shelburne and Starksboro fire departments and Hinesburg police joined troopers from the New Haven and Williston barracks in the search, and Starksboro firefighters located Goodfellow at approximately 3:30 p.m. Goodfellow was in good health and was returned home.

•  On March 23 at about 7:25 a.m. investigated a single-vehicle crash on Mill Pond Road near Howard Hill Road in Benson, in which police were told a pickup truck had left the roadway and was completely submerged under water in Mill Pond. The operator of the vehicle was able to exit the vehicle and was uninjured.

Investigation revealed that a 2002 Dodge truck driven by Christopher Welch, 41, of Shoreham was traveling north on Mill Pond Road. According to Welch, he crested a hill and was unaware of a corner ahead. Due to the speed the vehicle was traveling Welch was unable to navigate the corner, and left the travel portion of the road. According to Welch he was able to guide the vehicle between the guardrail and a barn, however he was unable to stop the vehicle before it was propelled into the pond.

Welch, who was wearing a seat belt, exited the vehicle under his own power and reported he was uninjured. Welch advised he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Police blamed driving at speeds in excess of the posted limit as the cause of the crash.

•  On March 25 cited Matthew J. Baker, 24, of Brick, N.J., for careless and negligent driving after his car went off the road in Cornwall. Police said that Baker’s 2001 Hyundai Elantra was southbound on Route 30 at a little after 4 p.m. when it travelled off the west side of the road. Baker allegedly lost control and the Hyundai crossed both lanes of Route 30 and went off the east side. Just before this, the police dispatcher received a complaint of the vehicle involved being “all over the road.” The trooper screened Baker for alcohol and the results were negative, so he issued Baker the negligent driving citation.

Police ultimately took Landon to the New Haven state police barracks and cited her for domestic assault, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
