MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Bridgette Sunhawk, 29, of Middlebury for domestic assault, following an alleged incident in the Seymour Street area on Sept. 2. Police allege that Sunhawk struck a man multiple times in the chest.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Received a junk ordinance complaint from a Woodland Park resident on Aug. 27.

•  Investigated a trespassing complaint at a Court Street residence on Aug. 27.

•  Received into evidence a wallet found in front of Two Brothers Tavern on Main Street on Aug. 27.

•  Were informed that someone had let the air out of the tires of a vehicle parked in the VFW Hall on Exchange Street on Aug. 28.

•  Received into evidence some syringes found off Halpin Road on Aug. 28.

•  Responded to a reported family dispute in the Boardman Street neighborhood on Aug. 28.

•  Went to the scene of a family dispute on Monroe Street on Aug. 28.

•  Spoke to Jayne Court residents on Aug. 28 about an alleged uptick in drug, noise and violence issues in the neighborhood.

•  Served trespass notices on two people on Aug. 29 who were not wanted at the Middlebury Health Center on Collins Drive.

•  Warned a driver about leaving her dog locked in her vehicle on what was a warm Aug. 29.

•  Responded to a domestic dispute on Court Street on Aug. 29.

•  Were called to a landlord-tenant dispute at a Cross Street residence on Aug. 29.

•  Received a report that a bike had been stolen from near the Storm Café on Mill Street on Aug. 29.

•  Warned a youth about skateboarding on Main Street on Aug. 29.

•  Investigated a report of a man purporting to collect money for a sick child on Aug. 30. The father’s child told police he had not given the man permission to solicit funds on his son’s behalf.

•  Investigated a report of a counterfeit $10 bill being passed at the Middlebury VFW on Aug. 30.

•  Ticked two local youths for being a minor in possession of tobacco on Charles Avenue on Aug. 31.

•  Assisted a local man who said $1,500 had been taken from his checking account on Aug. 30.

•  Got help for a man who had threatened to harm himself on Aug. 30.

•  Investigated a report that a lawn tractor had fallen off a vehicle and hit another vehicle near the intersection of Exchange Street and Route 7 on Aug. 31.

•  Responded to a truancy complaint at Middlebury Union High School on Aug. 31.

•  Warned a woman against panhandling in the Main Street area on Aug. 31.

•  Ticketed a youth who was in possession of tobacco in the Water Street area on Aug. 31.

•  Returned a credit card to a person who had dropped it in Frog Hollow Alley on Aug. 31.

•  Spoke to the parents of three MUHS students who had allegedly been shooting at birds on South Street Extension and returned to MUHS grounds with the dead animals on Aug. 31. An investigation yielded two rifles in one of the student’s cars. Police confiscated the rifles and reported the incident to the students’ parents.

•  Cited Julia Benjamin, 26, of Middlebury for two counts of simple assault, after she allegedly assaulted two employees of the Hill House on Route 7 North on Aug. 31.

•  Responded to a noise complaint in the North Pleasant Street neighborhood on Aug. 31.

•  Assisted public works officials at the scene of a water main break on Green Mountain Place on Sept. 1.

•  Responded to a report of two drunken men causing a disturbance in front of Two Brothers Tavern on Main Street on Sept. 1.

•  Assisted Porter Hospital officials with a man who was creating a disturbance at the emergency room on Sept. 1.

•  Responded to a report of a suicide attempt by a guest of the Blue Spruce Motel on Route 7 South on Sept. 1.

•  Cited Kristina A. Gallagher, 28, of Rutland for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop on Middle Road on Sept. 1. Police said they measured Gallagher’s blood-alcohol level at 0.183 percent.  The legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent.
