ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police stopped a motor vehicle driven by Jean Gaboriau, 45, of Rutland on Oct. 17 at around 2:48 p.m. on Route 7 at Campground Road in New Haven. Troopers said they found that Gaboriau was in possession of a stolen license plate.

Troopers further identified Gaboriau as having used the stolen license plate to drive away from multiple gas stations in Addison County without paying for the gas; they said this totaled in excess of $130.

Police issued Gaboriau numerous traffic tickets for driving without insurance, driving while under suspension and other offenses.

If service station attendants recall additional incidents of a Jeep Cherokee being involved in a gas drive-off, and have video of the incident, they are encouraged to contact Trooper Dempsey or Trooper Busby of the VSP’s New Haven barracks at 802-388-4919.

In other recent activity, troopers:

•  On Oct. 15 at approximately 4 p.m. responded to a report of a burglary in Whiting. Investigation revealed entry was gained through the back window of the residence. Several pieces of jewelry and electronics were stolen. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the VSP at 802-388-4919 or submit an anonymous tip at www.vtips.info or by texting “CRIMES” to keyword “VTIPS.”

Then, on Oct 17 at 5:38 p.m., VSP received a report of the burglary of a Route 22A home. Items reported stolen include sterling silverware and jewelry. Police found no signs of forced entry. It is estimated the burglary occurred between 8 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. that day. Anyone with information in either case is asked to contact VSP at 388-4919. Cunningham, 38, of Bristol attempted to cross Burpee from Plank Road and pulled directly in front of the Nissan, at which point the Nissan struck the passenger side of the Subaru. The Subaru was driven from the scene, the Nissan was towed. Murray sustained a low back strain, and she was screened by the Bristol Rescue Squad at the scene and released. Neither speed nor impairment were considered factors to this collision. Police will mail Cunningham a ticket for failing to yield, which carries a fine of $156 and four points.
