BRISTOL — Bristol police on June 23 arrested a town woman for possession of heroin. Just after 11 a.m. that morning, Police stopped Cassandra Fraser-Brown, 23, for failing to signal a turn. During the stop, police said they believed they had probable cause to believe Fraser-Brown was in possession of heroin. Fraser-Brown consented to a search, during which police found needles, sterile water containers, spoons and tourniquets, but no heroin.
Nonetheless, police said the paraphernalia was sufficient to cite her for possession of heroin. She is due in Addison County Superior Court at a later date.
Police on June 24 arrested another town woman at a traffic stop, this time on suspicion of driving with a criminally suspended license. Police responded to West Street for a report of a vehicle being driven without registration plates. Police found the vehicle parked in front of a West Street home, and determined that Alara Bourgeois, 20, had driven the car there from South Street, and that she had a suspended license. An electronic search informed police that Bourgeois had eight prior violations for driving with a suspended license.
Bourgeois is due to appear in Addison County Superior Court at a later date.
