BRISTOL — Bristol police recently issued a log recounting the large number of incidents with which they dealt during the month of May — some of great importance, others routine police work.

The Independent already published part of that log. Also during that month, Bristol police:

•  On May 24 at 2:44 p.m. received a wallet found by a citizen in the park. Police located the owner and returned the wallet.

•  On May 25 at 9 a.m. conducted a seatbelt patrol and issued three warnings and one ticket.

•  On May 25 at 11 a.m. took part in the Click It Or Ticket task force in Monkton, Starksboro and Bristol, and issued 12 warnings and two tickets.

•  On May 25 at 5:17 p.m. allowed the Addison County Sheriff’s Department to use the Bristol Police Department offices to process Dylan Devoid of Starksboro, who attempted to flee from police and crashed his vehicle into a parked car.

•  On May 26 escorted the Memorial Day Parade through Bristol without incident.

•  On May 26 at 2:05 p.m. investigated a possible graffiti incident by a School Street business.

•  On May 26 at 4:45 p.m. responded to the Lathrop Mill for a report of an alarm activation. Officers arrived and found a door unsecure. The business owner arrived and determined the door had not been secured by employees.

•  On May 27 at 3:30 p.m. received a call of several youths running from yellow smoke near Lord’s Prayer Rock. A trooper told police that the kids had set off a smoke bomb.

•  On May 27 an officer attended in-service training on interrogation techniques sponsored by John E. Reid & Associates.

•  On May 27 investigated bullying on Facebook, where a user who would not identify themselves was bullying another person. Police ensured the Facebook page of the offender was deleted. The parties involved are juveniles, police said.

•  On May 28 at 10:31 a.m. Bristol Elementary School staff reported that a parent had transported a child unrestrained to and from the school. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.

•  On May 28 at 2:41 p.m. received a report that Milton Hemingway, 79, of East Montpelier had contacted a family member in jail in an attempt to get his ex-wife to drop charges against him. Hemingway was previously arrested after making contact with his ex-wife, in violation of probation conditions. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

•  On May 28 at 5:21 p.m. received a report that a vehicle parked in the south parking lot of the Bristol Works had a broken passenger side window. Police determined the window was broken by a stone kicked up by a lawnmower.

•  On May 28 pulled over a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. The woman driver consented to a search, where officers found marijuana. Officers ticketed the driver for marijuana possession and the inspection violation.

•  On May 28 began an investigation that resulted in a June 17 citation issued to Melissa Ann Gebo, 36, of Bristol for writing a bad check, totaling $60, and lying to police.

•  On May 28 patrolled Monkton Road and issued two speeding tickets.

•  On May 29 at 9:26 a.m. patrolled Monkton, Burpee and Stoney Hill roads and issued one speeding ticket.

•  On May 29 at 10:32 a.m. took part in the Click It Or Ticket task force in Salisbury, and issued six warnings and one ticket.

•  On May 29 at 12:35 p.m. cited Nathan C. Dearing, 26, of Whiting for driving with a suspended license, negligent operation and excessive speed after police said he drove by officers on Route 7 in Leicester at 90 miles per hour. Police said Dearing then pulled into a business parking lot in an apparent attempt to avoid detection.

•  On May 29 at 12:30 p.m. issued a no-trespass notice to a male suspect who is no longer welcome at the Hub Teen Center. Police had been unable to find the suspect to serve the notice, because he is homeless.

•  On May 29 at 1:01 p.m. received a report from an East Street resident that she was receiving harassing letters from an ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend is currently jailed in Vermont, so police referred the case to the Department of Corrections.

•  On May 29 at 3:58 p.m. assisted ACTR by clearing parking spaces on South Street so ACTR drivers could park their buses as a memorial to a driver who had recently died.

•  On May 29 at 7 p.m. conducted a seatbelt patrol and issued five warnings.

•  On May 30 a Lauritsen Lane resident reported that his newspaper deliveryman neighbor woke him up every morning with his loud muffler. Police attempted to contact the driver to warn him about his muffler.

•  On May 30 at 2 p.m. took part in the Click It Or Ticket task force in Vergennes, and issued 11 warnings and four tickets.

•  On May 30 at 10:18 a.m. investigated a shoplifting incident at Maplefields. Security footage showed a woman stealing a bag of cookies. The officer was able to identify the man who accompanied the woman, but police don’t know the identity of the cookie thief.

•  On May 31 at 9:14 a.m. an officer pulled over a vehicle at the town dump for speeding and issued the male driver a warning.

•  On May 31 at 10:22 located a runaway child and returned him or her to his or her guardian at the Kountry Trailer Park.
