MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police gave information on July 4 to a Two Brothers Tavern employee on how she could apply for a no-stalking order after she reported being stalked by a male patron.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•   Were informed of the theft of a cell phone from a Court Street Extension business on June 29.

•   Tended to a barking dog complaint in Woodland Park on June 29.

•   Helped Porter Hospital officials prevent a female patient from leaving the premises on June 29. Police stood by until officials from the Counseling Service of Addison County (CSAC) arrived.

•   Responded to a reported argument between two clients of the Hill House on Route 7 North on June 29. Police calmed the situation.

•   Took a suicidal woman to Porter Hospital for evaluation on June 30.

•   Checked on a local man on June 30 who had reportedly skipped his physician appointments for the last two months. Police said the man was fine and will visit his doctor.

•   Investigated a noise complaint on Main Street on June 30. Police said that a band had been recording in a Main Street studio. A sound barrier was placed back into a window opening.

•   Responded to a reported verbal domestic dispute between a married couple on South Main Street on July 1.

•   Assisted CSAC with a girl who was threatening to harm herself and others in the Porter Field Road area on July 1. Police took the girl to Porter Hospital for evaluation.

•   Were informed of the theft of a pocketbook from Middlebury College campus on July 2.

•   Cited Christopher Shores, 21, of Middlebury for a criminal offense of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop on Case Street on July 2.

•   Responded to a complaint of a barking dog in the College Street neighborhood on July 3.

•   Responded to a report of a dog being stuck under a Halpin Road house on July 3. Police said the county dog warden was able to free the dog.

•   Disposed of some expired prescription drugs on July 3.

•   Responded to a hit-and-run accident involving two vehicles on Washington Street on July 3.

•   Notified CSAC about a foster child refusing to comply with foster parents on July 3.

•   Cited Gary English, 56, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, after he was allegedly found slumped over his vehicle at the intersection of Case Street and Mead Lane on July 3. Police said that English declined to submit to a breath test.

•   Responded, with Middlebury fire officials, to a reported oven fire in a Court Street home on July 4.

•   Assisted Porter Hospital Emergency Department officials with an unruly patient that was being held on an involuntary mental health order on July 4.

•   Investigated a report of a suspicious person allegedly ringing the doorbell of a Buttolph Drive residence on July 4.

•  Assisted Vermont State Police with a complaint in Bristol on July 5.

•  Helped a distraught, elderly man look for his son in the Creek Road area on July 5. Authorities located the man’s son, who was OK.

•   Were informed of the theft of a Generac 6,500-watt generator from an East Munger Street residence on July 5.

•   Responded to a dispute between some South Pleasant Street neighbors on July 5.

•  Cited Kyle Hamblin, 23, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop in the South Village Green neighborhood on July 6. Police said they measured Hamblin’s blood-alcohol content at 0.107 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08.
