ADDISON COUNTY — On Wednesday, Aug. 2, Vermont State Police reported that they had wrapped up a sexual assault investigation that resulted in them filing charges against three Bristol residents.

On June 25, detectives with VSP Troop B West began a sexual assault investigation in Bristol. After what a state police press release from Det. Trooper Craig Hanson called “a thorough investigation,” state police detectives charged 24-year-old Tyler Ford of Bristol with sexual assault. They also charged Glenn Cota, 53, and Suzanne Cota, 54, with enabling the consumption of alcohol by individuals under the age of 21.

In other recent activity, troopers:

•  On July 31 at five minutes to 7 p.m. went to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Quaker Road in Starksboro. Police report that Gregory West, 26, of Bristol was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram southbound on Quaker Road, when the pickup truck struck a tree and came to rest on its side. Police coted West for driving under the influence.

•  On Aug. 2 at approximately 7:30 a.m. responded to a disturbance at a home in the Nichols Road neighborhood in Monkton. Troopers alleged that Teresa Gleason, 24, of Monkton had assaulted a family member, and they cited her for domestic assault.

•  On June 23 began investigating a report of the theft of cash from the Shoreham Service Center on Route 22A in Shoreham. Store personnel told police that they discovered that a cash register was short $700 on June 18. At the close of the investigation state police on Aug. 2 reported that store employee Michael Raiche, 31, of Shoreham had stolen $700 in cash while working at the service center and they cited him for petit larceny.

•  On Aug. 3 at a shortly before noon received a report of a dog that had been shot on Sand Road in Ferrisburgh. State police said their investigation showed that Michael Roberts, 57, of Ferrisburgh had shot the dog with a firearm. The dog was being treated for its injuries late last week. Police cited Roberts for aggravated cruelty to animals.

•  On Aug. 4 at approximately 10:25 a.m. were called to assist a citizen at a home on Route 125 in Bridport. Police said they investigated and determined that Tammy Burbo, 51, of Vergennes was involved in the incident and was en route to the residence at the time of the call. State police attempted to stop Burbo before she got to the home, but she arrived on scene after failing to stop. Troopers took Burbo was into custody after, they alleged, she attempted to back into a state police cruiser and almost struck a trooper. Burbo resisted arrest, police report; but they did get her into custody, took her to the New Haven barracks and cited her for aggravated disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, impeding law enforcement and resisting arrest.

•  On Aug. 7 at a little past noon shut down Route 22A in part of Bridport and Shoreham after a bad two-vehicle crash occurred. The crash claimed the lives of four people. To read a full story click here.
