BRISTOL — On Sept. 16, Bristol police arrested Aaron John Myers, 35, of Ferrisburgh for heroin possession.

At around 4:32 p.m., police stopped Myers on Hardscrabble Road for speeding after he was observed traveling 66 miles an hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone. Investigation on the scene resulted in the seizure of suspected heroin and related paraphernalia.

Myers was processed and released with a citation to appear in Addison Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.

In other activity Sept. 4 through 10, Bristol police:

• Patrolled Main Street and the surrounding area on foot. Police patrolled twice a day on Sept. 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9; and once on Sept. 10. On Sept. 6 and 8, police found doors unsecured and took steps to secure them.

• Conducted security checks of Mount Abraham Middle/High School on Sept. 4, 5, 9 and 10.

• Carried out town-contracted traffic patrols on Sept. 9 and 10. Police patrolled Route 116 and other roads and issued three tickets for speeding.

• Completed fingerprint requests for over 70 school volunteers on Sept. 6 and 8. Completed two other fingerprint requests on Sept. 6 and 8.

• Assisted Vermont State Police at a single-vehicle crash at which a car went over the bank on Upper Notch Road, on Sept. 4.

• Began investigating a reported theft from a district residence, on Sept. 5.

• Took a complaint from MAUHS that a vehicle passed a stopped school bus, on Sept. 5. Police identified the vehicle’s owner and are investigating the incident.

• Investigated a report of damage to a gas pump at a West Street business, on Sept. 5. After speaking with both company personnel and the driver, police determined that the incident was accidental not criminal.

• Responded to a district residence where a woman had reportedly made threats to harm herself, on Sept. 6 at 9:56 p.m. The woman was transported to Porter Medical Center for evaluation.

• Assisted Bristol Rescue at a district residence on Sept. 7.

• Received a debit card on Sept. 7 at 11:44 a.m. Police are taking steps to locate the owner.

• Located a phone reported as stolen, on Sept. 7.

• Provided security and traffic control at an MAUHS nighttime football game on Sept. 8.

• Responded to a citizen’s observation of possibly suspicious person on Sept. 9 at 5:35 p.m. Police found that the person had been walking for miles with his unleashed dog, and provided the man a courtesy ride to a local residence.

• Stopped a vehicle that had been reported as failing to maintain its proper lane on Sept. 9. Police stopped the vehicle on Route 116 near Hewitt Road and found that the driver was a new driver with limited experience driving at night.
