BRISTOL — On Oct. 24 two Bristol police officers led a training seminar on active shooter response for Addison County emergency services.

Meanwhile, Bristol police conducted foot patrol downtown on Oct. 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27; on Oct. 25 an officer secured one building. Police foot patrols at Bristol Elementary School and nearby areas took place each day from Oct. 23 to 27; and security checks of Mount Abraham Union High School occurred daily Oct. 23 to 29 except the 27th.

Police offices completed fingerprint requests on Oct. 17, 24, 25 and 27.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  On Oct. 23 began investigating a vehicle reported as damaged in the Shaw’s parking lot. It is believed the damage occurred at around 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22. Police ask that anyone with information on this incident to contact them at 453-2533.

•  Began investigating an Oct. 23 report of a truck damaged while traveling north on Monkton Road. The complainant said the truck was hit by a loose strap from a wide-load modular or mobile home as it traveled southbound on Monkton Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 453-2533.

•  On Oct. 23 began investigating a report that records were inappropriately shared.

•  Spoke to two juveniles and their parents about a reported dispute the kids were having on Oct. 23. Police determined that the parties could resolve the issue amongst themselves.

•  On Oct. 23, advised a person who had been disposing of their household garbage in the town’s garbage cans on Main Street that the downtown trash receptacles are not for household disposal.

•  Conducted a morning foot patrol on Airport Drive on Oct. 25.

•  Began investigating a reported truancy on Oct. 25.

•  Filed information regarding an ongoing truancy case with the Addison County State’s Attorney’s Office on Oct. 25.

•  Completed a webinar training on the handling of electronic evidence on Oct. 26.

•  Responded to a report of a vehicle operating erratically on Mountain Street on Oct. 27. Police located the vehicle and found the driver, who was not impaired, was slowing to admire houses as they drove through the area.

•  Responded to a request to help a person who appeared to be lost and confused on Oct. 28.

•  Completed a 30-minute directed patrol on Lower Notch Road on Oct. 28. No violations were observed.

•  Responded to an alarm at a local bank on Oct. 29 at 3:59 p.m. Police found all secure.

•           Picked up numerous American flags along West Street and returned them to the American Legion on Oct. 29. The flags had been blown to the ground by the windstorm the night before.
