BRISTOL — On Nov. 8 Bristol police responded to a hit and run on Prince Lane near Mountain Street.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle, a silver Subaru Outback, struck a rock wall, lost control, swerved off a graveled area and down a three-foot embankment into a private yard, struck some lawn furniture, and then left the scene.

Evidence at the scene indicates that the Subaru sustained front-end damage. Witnesses believe the Subaru was possibly racing with another vehicle through the Shaw’s parking lot when it crashed.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Bristol police at 453-2533.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  Conducted foot patrols along Main Street, Mountain Street and surrounding areas, including Bristol Elementary School, on Nov. 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

•  Checked security of Mount Abraham Union High School on Nov. 6, 7, 9 and 12.

•  Completed fingerprint requests for individuals for volunteer purposes on Nov. 7, 8 and 12.

•  Began investigating a report received on Nov. 3 that a tire had been slashed on a resident’s car in the overnight hours between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The small, white, four-door sedan had been parked on North Street near Pleasant Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bristol police at 453-2533.

•  Completed a local records check for employment purposes on Nov. 6.

•  Helped secure a door at a district business on Nov. 6.

•  Recovered a debit card on Nov 7 and left a phone message for the owner. Police then returned the card to the issuing agent.

•  Checked on the welfare of a local person on Nov. 7.

•  Were notified of a motor vehicle accident in the driveway of a private residence at around 4:28 p.m. on Nov. 7. Because of the circumstances and location, police did not conduct an investigation.

•  Conducted a foot patrol on Airport Drive on Nov. 8. 

•  Initiated three investigations into reported truancy-related issues on Nov. 8.

•  On Nov. 8 took a citizen report of a hit-and-run accident that had occurred several weeks earlier on Main Street. No suspect was identified in the incident, and police completed a report for insurance purposes.

•  Conducted 30 minutes of town-contracted patrol on Monkton Road on Nov. 8. Police issued one warning and one ticket for speed violations.

•  Served a relief from abuse order on a local female on Nov. 8.

•  Received a wallet on Nov. 8 and gave it to its owner.

•  Responded on Nov. 8 to Park Place and School Street, where a tractor-trailer driver was unable to make a turn because of parked cars. A parked vehicle was moved, and the truck proceeded through.

•  Attended a training in Burlington on Nov. 9.

•  Responded to a local address for a reported juvenile problem on Nov. 9. The situation resolved itself before police arrived.

•  Handed over a lost wallet to its owner on Nov. 9.

•  Conducted 30 minutes of traffic enforcement on Monkton and Burpee roads on Nov. 9. Police issued one warning for speeding.

•  Mediated a disagreement between a juvenile and an adult on Nov. 10.

•  Responded to a low-hanging wire on Spring Street on Nov. 10. Police deployed a traffic cone and orange tape to warn and divert motorists, and called the appropriate utility company to repair the utility line.

•  On Nov. 10 received information from a concerned local resident regarding an incident that occurred in another jurisdiction.
