ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police responded to two recent domestic disputes over the past two weeks, both resulting in assault charges.

The first occurred on July 21 in Orwell, at around 6:21 p.m., after troopers received a report of a family fight. After arriving at the scene, troopers determined that Amber Thomas, 22, of Orwell had physically assaulted a family member, before damaging two vehicles, smashing the home’s windows with a shovel, and driving away.

Police found Thomas later in Rutland County and took her into custody. Police later took Thomas to the Porter Hospital emergency room at the request of Counseling Services of Addison County, and eventually released and cited her for domestic assault and unlawful mischief.

The second incident took place in Salisbury on July 28. Responding to a reported family fight at around 11:45 a.m., troopers determined that Victoria Tellier, 26, of Middlebury had assaulted a member of the household. The victim was hospitalized, and Tellier was arrested and cited for domestic assault before being released.

In other recent activity, state police:

•  On July 24 at around 8:40 a.m. stopped a speeding car on Route 22A in Addison. Police cited John Beauregard, 31, of Orwell for speeding; troopers said he was driving 83 mph in a 50 mph zone.

•  On July 24 at approximately 4:25 p.m. stopped a car on Route 7 in Middlebury for a moving violation. Police discovered that the driver, identified as Herbert Klein, 46, of Wells, had an active arrest warrant out of Rutland, and processed him at the Rutland barracks. Klein was later lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.

•  On July 25 at around 6:29 p.m. responded to a two-car crash on Route 7 in Ferrisburgh. Police report that a 78-year-old Ferrisburgh woman had been slowing down for a line of cars on the road when she was rear-ended by a 16-year-old Starksboro resident who had momentarily diverted her attention from the road. Nobody was injured; the teenager’s car sustained damage to the front bumper, hood and undercarriage, while the lead vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear bumper.

•  On July 26 at 3 p.m. arrested Ronald Marsh, 54, of Sharon at a location in Granville and cited him for stalking and disorderly conduct by electronic means. This came from a three-day investigation where police said they found out that Marsh was texting and leaving threatening messages to his estranged partner over a month-long span. Police also reported that the state of Florida issued a warrant for Marsh’s arrest for failure to appear on a domestic assault case involving the same domestic partner. The warrant is non-extraditable at this time, state police said in a press release.

Police jailed March at the Southern State Correctional Facility with bail set at $400 cash.

•  On July 28 at around 6:22 p.m. responded to a three-car crash on Route 116 South in Bristol. Police determined that the first driver, Peter Diminico, 69, of Bristol had been trying to turn left on Route 116 into the Bristol Country Store gas station when he failed to yield to a car driven in the opposite direction by Jessica Goerold, 33, of Hinesburg. Diminico’s car collided with Goerold’s, which then hit the third car, driven by Stacie Macrae, 39, of Burlington, which was parked at the gas pumps in the country store lot. Police issued Diminico a ticket for vehicle turning left. State police were assisted at the scene by Bristol police, Bristol Fire Department and Middlebury Regional EMS.

•  On July 29 cited Alara Bourgeois, 29, of Bristol twice for driving with a criminally suspended license. First, at around 9:25 a.m., police stopped Bourgeois on Route 7 near the intersection of Monkton Road for an equipment violation before discovering that her license was criminally suspended, issuing her a citation. Later that day, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police stopped Bourgeois on Plank Road in New Haven for improper or unassigned plates, before making the same discovery and citing her again. Because Bourgeois had small children in the car, police escorted her to her home and again cited her for driving with a criminally suspended license.
