BRISTOL — At mid-month, Bristol police cited two men in separate incidents for driving under the influence, or DUI.

On Feb. 16, at 10:40 a.m., Bristol police arrested Wyatt Gendreau, 19, of Starksboro and cited him for DUI. A day later, after investigating the report of suspicious vehicle activity, Bristol police arrested Thomas Gracie, 18, and cited him for DUI.

Both Gendreau and Gracie were due to answer their charges in Addison Superior Court, criminal division, on Mar. 4.

Between Feb. 4 and 17, Bristol police assisted Vermont State Police once, Middlebury police once and Vergennes police twice.

Officers in the Bristol department completed 36 foot patrols and eight hours of car patrols in various parts of town, some of which were part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program.

Bristol officers checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School nine times, secured two unsecure buildings, processed 13 requests for fingerprints and verified two vehicle identification numbers.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  On Feb. 4 completed in-service instructor training.

•  On Feb. 5 towed a vehicle and issued tickets to the owner after an investigation into traffic violations determined the vehicle was unregistered.

•  On Feb. 5 co-taught at a local high school with the assistance of a local schoolteacher.

•  On Feb. 5 investigated a report of disorderly conduct at a local residence, determined no offense had been committed and assisted with arranging a ride for a person.

•  On Feb. 6 served a no-trespass notice on behalf of a local business.

•  On Feb. 6 opened an investigation into an alleged sex offense; no further details were available at press time.

•  On Feb. 6 stopped a vehicle with no visible registration. Investigation is ongoing.

•  On Feb. 7 investigated the report of threats being made. Investigation is ongoing.

•  On Feb. 7 opened a fraud investigation.

•  On Feb. 7 helped resolve a dispute between a juvenile and an adult.

•  On Feb. 7 opened an investigation into an alleged assault.

•  On Feb. 7 assisted a local resident with obtaining property.

•  On Feb. 8 conducted a welfare check without incident.

•  On Feb. 8 ticketed a vehicle following a parking complaint.

•  On Feb. 8 completed a directed patrol for DUI enforcement funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Program.

•  On Feb. 9, along with Vermont State Police, assisted family members in retrieving personal items from a residence.

•  On Feb. 11 assisted someone who needed a ride.

•  On Feb. 12 completed a no-cost investigative training webinar.

•  On Feb. 12 facilitated the return of a lost wallet.

•  On Feb. 12 assisted in the civil process for a juvenile in possession of tobacco-related products.

•  On Feb. 12 opened an investigation into witness intimidation.

•  On Feb. 12 confiscated  marijuana from a local address with the intention of destroying it.

•  On Feb. 12 issued paperwork related to juvenile possession of tobacco.

•  On Feb. 12 assisted someone who was locked out of their vehicle.

•  On Feb. 12, with the assistance of South Burlington police, served a no-trespass notice for a Bristol address.

•  On Feb. 13 investigated a loose dog on Mountain Street and found that it had been retrieved by the owner.

•  On Feb. 14 issued paperwork related to juvenile possession of tobacco.

•  On Feb. 14 helped someone gain access to their locked vehicle.

•  On Feb. 14 initiated a property watch.

•  On Feb. 15 investigated a minor vehicle crash. A report is forthcoming.

•  On Feb. 15 attended training.

•  On Feb. 15 initiated a property watch.

•  On Feb. 17 helped a local store clerk locate a customer who had left property at the store.
