Corrections office may return to the county

MIDDLEBURY — The recently disbanded Middlebury Probation and Parole Office could soon be re-established in permanent, full-time space in the Addison County Courthouse, state and local officials confirmed last week.

Vergennes eyes franchise clause for new city plan

VERGENNES — As the Vergennes Planning Commission nears the finish line for producing a draft for a new city plan, planners after much debate added provisions that, if adopted, would lay the groundwork for zoning laws to regulate franchise businesses like McDonald’s Restaurants.

MIDDLEBURY — A narrow win for the Mount Abraham girls over host Middlebury and a number of strong early season performances highlighted the season’s first track meet, which brought Vergennes and Lyndon to the Middlebury College track on Saturday as well as the Eagles and Tigers.
