GRANVILLE / HANCOCK — Not two years after Hancock and Granville shuttered their shared elementary school, school boards in both towns are facing yet another potential closure.

This time, it is the Windsor Northwest Supervisory Union (WNwSU) that is mulling its options following a March 2010 vote by Bethel and Rochester residents to withdraw from the union.

Shoreham makes fund-raising goal for library project

Posted on March 7, 2011 |

That action, supported by voice vote, could allow for construction on the 1,600-square-foot addition to begin as soon as this fall, according to library trustees.

BRISTOL — The results of a poll taken among people who voted in Bristol on Town Meeting Day could point the town toward adoption of the first full update of the Bristol Town Plan in nearly a decade.

The Bristol Planning Commission’s two-question poll offered to voters as they left Holley Hall on Tuesday sought to determine residents’ sentiments regarding where to permit and where to prohibit gravel and sand extraction in town — the hottest issue debated during the years-long creation of a town plan update.

A winner springs from a rough start

Little did I know that beneath that ski mask was no common man; underneath those layers was a resilient hero.
