Ron Liebowitz, the president of Middlebury College, announced the school's second wave of budget cuts in the wee hours of the morning today — cuts the college hopes will bring the school closer to its goal of trimming $20 million from the spending plan. At first glance, it looks like the arts might have taken the hardest hit.
Heard the news? President Obama is slated to sign the much-debated economic stimulus bill into law Tuesday in Denver. The bill made it through Congress on Friday when the Senate voted 60-38 in favor of the legislation — after weeks of debate about the best way to jolt the economy out of recession.
