The odd winter weather seems to have carried over into spring.
Over the last eight years, the number of students participating in the Vermont free and reduced-price meal program has skyrocketed (click here for the full story).
Over my first three years in Vermont, I’ve seen an incredible variety of weather.
There's a police stand-off at a private home with a man who is apparently armed. State police have apparently surrounded the house and are trying to negotiate with the man. It is unclear if there are any hostages, according to a brief report filed by WCAX. Route 7 is closed south of the New Haven Junction on Route 7, where it intersects with Route 17 and at Town Hall Road. Traffic is being detoured around that section of Route 7. A dozen police cars are reportedly on the scene.
A very unusual March heat wave is sweeping across the northern part of the country, and Vermont is next on its list.
