ADDISON COUNTY — The 2011 Addison County Legion baseball team has a new look this year — and is no doubt one of the younger entries in the Northern Division.
Only six members of 14 members of Coach Mike Estey’s roster have Legion experience, and only two — former Vergennes Union High School standouts Logan Williams and Jackson Alexander — are in their last years of eligibility.
Former state Senator Gerry Gossens, a Salisbury Democrat, nailed it when he said of the draft redistricting plan for the 150 seats in the House submitted last week: “I believe it is wrong, with the months we’ve spent and the money we’ve spent, to submit a plan that we know will not be acceptable and probably won’t even be taken seriously.”

Pushing pedal over pedal, I trudged ahead on my bike through pouring sheets of frigid rain. My cold, drenched clothes weighed me down, but I forged on through last Saturday’s doom and gloom to photograph Mount Abe’s graduation.

Middlebury Union High School, Mount Abraham Union High School, Vergennes Union High School and Otter Valley Union High School all held their graduation ceremonies last weekend. At least two athletes from each of the four local teams are recognized here after a season in which Mount Abraham, Otter Valley, MUHS and Vergennes probably didn’t finish as well as hoped, but all still accomplished something positive.
