MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police on April 27 received a report about an alleged sexual assault in the Court Street Extension area. The matter remains under investigation, police said.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
• Conducted welfare checks, with the assistance of the Bristol Police Department, on two area juveniles after a Facebook photo involving firearms was sent to a stranger in Vergennes on April 27. Police said both individuals were OK and it was determined to have been a hoax.
VERGENNES — Vergennes police continued to enforce trucking laws last week, stopping and citing two tractor-trailer unit drivers on April 30.
First, city police stopped a truck near the Kennedy Brothers building for speeding and ended up ticketing the driver for two violations of trucking law: driving for more than 11 hours and failing to keep proper driving logs.
