Emery skating design on Lake Dunmore, Oliver Online Standalone .jpg

FIGURE SKATER EMERY Mikula, 11, of Denver and Killington, was captured by a drone camera carving designs in the inch of light snow covering the southern end of Lake Dunmore on Christmas Day. The ice on the southern section of the lake was ideal for skating, at about 5-6 inches thick, while open water was still visible on the northern and wider sections of the lake. With fluctuating temperatures, reaching into the high 40s last Friday, it’s good practice to bore a hole in the ice to determine thickness before venturing out.
