Veregennes Police Log: City police cite woman for domestic assault

VERGENNES — Vergennes police last week dealt with several reports of domestic assaults and made an arrest in one case.

On Saturday, Vergennes police arrested Andrea Anderson, 25, of Brandon for allegedly assaulting her ex-boyfriend at a Comfort Hill residence. Police said the victim allegedly sustained a minor injury under one eye. Police charged Anderson with domestic assault and lodged her at the Chittenden County Correctional Center.

Bristol Police Log: Resident reports scam lottery letter

BRISTOL — A Bristol police district resident contacted police in July about a potential scam.

The resident on July 12 received a $1,900 check from New Bedford Symphony Orchestra of New Bedford, Mass., drawn on Sovereign Bank. The check was made out to the resident and attached to an enclosed letter from “Trans Financial Company (Lottery & Resource Management)” advising of a lottery winning in the amount of $250,000.

The letter requested $1,600 paid via Western Union in order to claim the $250,000 winnings.

Vergennes Police Log: Larceny charges land city man in jail

VERGENNES — Vergennes police on July 31 arrested a city man for the second time in less than a week on larceny charges, and this time he was jailed.

Police said Tyler Flynn, 21, of Vergennes was lodged at the Chittenden County Correctional Center for lack of $10,000 cash bail after allegedly stealing a laptop computer from a second street home and selling it to a Burlington store.

Flynn, who five days before was cited for stealing copper wire and then released with conditions, was cited for petit larceny and violating the conditions of his earlier release.

Vermont State Police Log: Three vehicles damaged in Rt. 22A crash

ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police rushed to a three-car accident on Route 22A in Panton on the evening of Tuesday, July 30.

Police report that the three drivers involved in the crash were Duncan Sewall, 18, of Milton, Mass., in a Honda Pilot; Charles Swinton, 22, of Ticonderoga, N.Y., in a Chevy van; and Jordan Stearns, 17, of Ferrisburgh (police did not report what he was driving).

This collision left all three vehicles disabled.

Middlebury Police Log: Domestic abuse draws police attention

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police responded to a report of a fight in progress at a Seminary Street Extension residence on Aug. 5. Police said they found a man and a woman, both drunk, who had been involved in a dispute. Police said they took the woman into protective custody, while the man was taken to Porter Hospital to meet with counseling service officials because he had threatened to take his own life.

•Investigated a trespassing complaint at the municipal pool off Buttolph Drive on July 29.

Bristol Police Log: Woman robbed in June, police seek more information

BRISTOL — On June 24 Bristol police responded to a report of an armed robbery on South Street.

A white male wearing a hooded sweatshirt had confronted a woman as she came out of the alley behind Green Mountain Shoe and Apparel, where she had disposed of household trash. The woman was forced to the ground and to give up her wallet.

Police reported last week that one suspect was identified, but they had insufficient evidence for an arrest. Anyone with information on this matter is still encouraged to contact police at 453-2533.

Vermont State Police Log: Troopers break up tatoo party

ADDISON COUNTY — This past Saturday afternoon at around 1:30 p.m. Vermont State Police responded to a report of an illegal “tattoo party” at a residence on Crown Point Road in Bridport.

The troopers’ investigation led to the arrest of James St. Denis, 29, of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; he was cited for tattooing and piercing without a Vermont registration.

Vergennes Police Log: Erratic driving ends with citation

VERGENNES  — Last Friday, July 26, Vergennes police received a warning to be on the lookout for a vehicle being driven erratically. Police stopped the car on Main Street and cited the driver, 22-year-old Tristan Bartsch of New Haven, for driving under the influence, first offense.

According the Vergennes police, Bartsch’s blood alcohol content was 0.188; the legal limit for driving is 0.08.

After processing him, they turned him over to a family member.

Middlebury Police Log: Robbery investigation continues

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police continued their investigation into a robbery at the Marble Works Pharmacy on Maple Street that took place shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24.

As reported last week on addisonindependent.com, a young white male whose face was largely concealed by a hoodie, cap and sunglasses made off with an unspecified amount of prescription drugs after displaying a handgun to pharmacy officials. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Middlebury police at 388-3191.

Bristol Police Log: Two more juveniles busted for drugs

BRISTOL — During the week of July 15, Bristol police issued juvenile citations to two 13-year-old boys for using regulated drugs. The charges were the result of a report that Mount Abraham Union High School staff submitted to the Bristol Police Department after interrupting the boys using the regulated drugs on school property.
