Vergennes Police Log: Five minors cited for alcohol violation

VERGENNES — Vergennes police in two separate incidents this past weekend ticketed five minors for alcohol use and issued them court diversion paperwork, and in one also cited a 21-year-old motorist for driving under the influence of alcohol and providing alcohol to minors.

Bristol Police Log: Repeat felon charged with selling drugs

BRISTOL — On June 3, Bristol police arrested Bruce Cobb, 53, of Lincoln on charges of selling and dispensing of narcotics. Police had obtained information stating that Cobb was selling narcotics in downtown Bristol.

A press release from Chief Kevin Gibbs stated that police conducted several operations in Bristol where Cobb allegedly sold and dispensed narcotics in the presence of a police officer on several occasions.

Middlebury Police Log: Search for shooter continues

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police investigated a report of a shooting incident in the Jackson Lane neighborhood in the early morning of April 20.

As reported on addisonindependent.com and in the Monday edition of the Independent, Bernard Kimball, 65, had been shot in the leg by a suspect outside of his apartment at around 1 a.m. that Saturday. Police said the victim was taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care for surgery and follow up treatment of his injuries and was listed in fair condition on Sunday evening.

Middlebury Police Log: Middlebury man cited for domestic assault

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Dennis Bonnin, 32, of Middlebury for domestic assault, following an incident at a John Graham Court residence on March 31. Police said that Bonnin is alleged to have struck a woman in the head. He was lodged that evening at the Marble Valley Correctional Center, according to police.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Investigated a domestic disturbance at a Seminary Street residence on March 25.

Bristol Police Log: Police investigate embezzlement case

BRISTOL — Bristol police last week cited an employee of Champlain Farms for embezzlement from the state liquor store in the Main Street business.

The Vermont Department of Liquor Control conducted an audit of the store after flagging suspicious activity related to sales transactions on the liquor store cash register, and on March 22 handed the results to the Bristol Police Department. Police Chief Kevin Gibbs said it was determined that liquor inventory worth more than $5,000 was unaccounted for.

Vergennes Police Log: Police report cash stolen from cars, apartment

VERGENNES — Vergennes police reported three incidents of cash being stolen between Feb. 4 and 10, and they are urging citizens to report suspicious behavior promptly.

Two of the thefts occurred on Feb. 4. A woman reported $22 stolen from an unlocked car on Comfort Hill, and a man reported $640 stolen from the glove compartment of a car parked at the Small City Market.

On Feb. 7 police went to the Hillside Acres apartment complex when a woman there reported that cash had been taken from her apartment.

Middlebury Police Log: Domestic incidents give police a busy week

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police investigated a disorderly conduct complaint at the Addison County Courthouse on Feb. 7. Police said a foreign national inside the building had become upset with Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles officials.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Cited a 13-year-old juvenile for assault following an incident on Exchange Street on Feb. 4.

•  Received a barking dog complaint in the Woodland Park area on Feb. 4.

Vermont State Police Log: Police find Starksboro man who fled, cite him for domestic assault

ADDISON COUNTY —Vermont State Police are investigating the report of a domestic assault off Route 17 in Starksboro on Thursday, Jan. 25. Troopers report that Andrew E. Bissonnette, 22, of Starksboro assaulted a victim, and that Bisonnette was also on active conditions of release, which he violated.

Prior to arrival the arrival of VSP, Bissonnette fled the residence and could not be located.

VSP put out a notice to be on the lookout for Bissonnette. By early this week they had taken him into custody.

Middlebury Police Log: Former store employee accused of embezzlement

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Tiffany Audet, 20, of Shoreham for embezzlement, following an investigation at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Court Street on Jan. 26. Police allege that Audet, a former Rite Aid employee, embezzled more than $1,200 from the store dating back to October of 2011.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Responded to an unlawful mischief complaint in the Case Street area on Jan. 22.

•  Assisted Vergennes police officers with an unruly woman on Jan. 23.
