VERGENNES — Vergennes police on Oct. 13 cited a pair of Chittenden County residents following a 1:45 a.m. traffic stop in which police allege a passenger and a driver switched seats before police approached the vehicle. Police said they stopped the vehicle, a pick-up truck, after the department’s license-plate reader alerted them of a possible problem with its registration.
