Earl R. “Bill” Cram

MIDDLEBURY — Earl R. “Bill” Cram, 82, of Middlebury died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

He was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Ripton, the son of Harley and Mildred (Clark) Cram.

He served in the Korean War. He was a member of Middlebury American Legion Post 27 and VFW in Middlebury. He was a cook for 47 years, working at Middlebury College, the Middlebury Inn and various boys’ camps.

HUBBARDTON — Lyle Frederick Burt, 85, of Hubbardton died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland.

He was born in East Shoreham on April 7, 1926. He was the son of Lester and Margaret (Farnham) Burt.

Marjorie M. (Denis) Wilcox

KISSEE MILLS, Mo. — Marjorie M. (Denis) Wilcox, 82, of Kissee Mills, Mo., died Jan. 20, 2012, at the Forsyth Nursing and Rehab center in Forsyth.

She was born in Sudbury, Vt., on March 22, 1929, the third of five children of Bertha (Racine) and Alphonse Denis.

Mary Jo Richards

EAST MIDDLEBURY — Mary Jo Richards, 76, a longtime resident of East Middlebury, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born Nov. 26, 1935, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Josephine (Georgius) Thompson.

She married Alden C. Richards on Aug. 25, 1955.

Mark P. Many

MIDDLEBURY — Mark P. Many, 98, a lifelong Middlebury resident, died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Middlebury April 24, 1913, he was the son of the late Medrick G. and Mary (Lanou) Many.

He served his country honorably with the Vermont National Guard.

Dorothy G. “Dot” Lincoln

CORNWALL — A memorial service for Dorothy G. “Dot” Lincoln of Cornwall, who died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at noon at the Cornwall Congregational Church. The Rev. Mary Kay Cavazos will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the United Sates Navy at the conclusion of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornwall Congregational Church.

Marjorie Helena (Munson) Kvaraitis

MIDDLEBURY, Vt./ENFIELD, Conn. — Marjorie Helena (Munson) Kvaraitis, 80, of Windsor Locks, Conn., passed peacefully into God’s care Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Ellis Manor in Hartford, Conn.
She was born in Middlebury, Vt., on Nov. 25, 1931, the daughter of the late William and Marion (Aldrich) Munson Sr.
Marjorie was a graduate of Middlebury High School, class of 1951. She received her degree in Computer Science from Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield, Conn. She also had an LPN degree. She was employed by Cigna Insurance Co. as a computer data operator.

Eleanor C. Ketcham

SHREWSBURY, Mass./BRANDON, Vt. — Eleanor C. Ketcham, 95, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at her home in Shrewsbury, Mass.

She was born in St. Benedict, Pa., on Dec. 1, 1916. She was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Papish) Cebrat. On Oct. 15, 1945, she married the late Arthur William Ketcham in New Orleans, La.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
