Route 116 construction to continue all this week

MIDDLEBURY — The construction project along Route 116 from just south of Robinson School in Starksboro to the intersection with Route 7 will continue this week between East Middlebury and Bristol, the Vermont Agency of Transportation reports.
No work will be done on Monday, May 28, due to the Memorial Day Holiday.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, crews will continue paving this section, weather permitting. For the rest of the week, work crews will replace guardrails and work on ditches, among other operations.
Motorists should expect delays as traffic control will be present allowing for one lane of alternating traffic within the construction areas. Drivers are asked to use extreme caution while traveling through the work zone.
Anyone with questions or concerns regarding this project may contact Public Outreach Coordinator Stephanie Barrett at 802-862-6085.
