High school field hockey teams prevail

ADDISON COUNTY — In area high school field hockey in the latter half of last week, Mount Abraham remained unbeaten, Middlebury split two games, and Otter Valley edged a county rival.
EAGLES
On Wednesday Molly Laurent and Sydney Perlee scored for the Eagles in a 2-2 tie against visiting Missisquoi. Goalie Kira Murray stopped four shots.
On Saturday the 3-0-2 Eagles bested visiting Mt. Mansfield, 3-2 in overtime. Madison Gile knocked home the OT game-winner, and Perlee notched both regulation goals for Mount Abe. Murray made seven saves for the 3-0-2 Eagles.
TIGERS
On Wednesday the 2-2-1 Tigers rolled over host Fair Haven, 11-0. Lexi Bartlett led the way with three goals, Maeve Hammel and Lydia Deppman scored two apiece, and Talia Cotroneo, Ali Seaton, Phoebe Smith and Clara Wolff also scored. Goalie Jordyn Howard stopped 14 shots for the 0-5 Slaters.
On Friday host Essex edged MUHS, 1-0, on an Abby Guenther goal. Goalie Ileigh Aube stopped 10 shots for the 2-2-1 Tigers, who will host OV on Tuesday.
OTTERS
On Saturday the 2-1 Otters took a 3-0 first-half lead on the way to a 3-1 win over visiting Rutland. Brittney Jackson scored twice and assisted a Ryleigh LaPorte goal to spark the OV attack. OV goalie Ellie Ross made eight saves, and two Raider goalies combined for seven stops.
