VERGENNES — Vergennes police said they are looking into whether a city resident received explicit pictures on his computer that included images of an underage female. Police said the investigation began on Aug. 4.

In other incidents between Aug. 1 and 7, Vergennes police:

  On Aug. 1 checked out a complaint that noisy construction on North Street began before 7 a.m., but found no work under way.

  On Aug. 1 helped a Meigs Road auto dealership process a bad check complaint.

  On Aug. 1 went to Kinney Drugs after an employee reported seeing a woman there who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, but did not find her.

  On Aug. 1 were told that a radio and fishing gear were stolen from a vehicle parked on Alden Place.

  On Aug. 1 found a door left unlocked at Vergennes Union High School.

  On Aug. 1 gave directions to a motorist on Main Street.

  On Aug. 2 were asked to find a woman, but learned she had moved to New Haven.

  On Aug. 2 advised a man and woman involved in a child custody dispute at a Maple Manor home to resolve their differences through Family Court.

  On Aug. 2 helped a car owner enter a locked vehicle.

  On Aug. 2 found a camper door open at Denecker Chevrolet and told a business representative.

  On Aug. 3 responded to a noise complaint at a Main Street apartment building and found no problem.

  On Aug. 3 heard a complaint that a car with a flat tire had been sitting in front of a School Street building for a week; police spoke to the landlord about having a tenant deal with the issue.

  On Aug. 4 were told by a Green Street resident that her son had stolen tools from her garage. An officer recalled stopping a car driven by the son on July 24 and impounding it because he was driving with a suspended license, and seeing tools in the vehicle. Police then found some of the missing items in the car; an investigation is ongoing and charges are possible, police said.

  On Aug. 4 dealt with a minor two-car accident on South Water Street.

  On Aug. 4 helped Vermont State Police by responding to a family fight on Kellogg Bay Road in Ferrisburgh; police said they held a man until VSP arrived.

  On Aug. 5 went to Route 7 in North Ferrisburgh to check a report of a man hitting a woman; police said there was no evidence of a physical fight.

  On Aug. 5 were told by a Green Street resident of a car that often played loud music in the area; police could not find it, but said they would keep an eye out for it.

  On Aug. 5 cited Sharon Brown, 47, of Panton for driving with a suspended license, criminal offense, after stopping her car on Main Street.

  On Aug. 6 helped the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad at the North Street nursing home.

  On Aug. 6 were told that a woman’s cell phone had either been lost or stolen on the Addison County Transit Resources Tritown Bus.

  On Aug. 6 ticketed a 19-year-old female Northlands Job Corps student for underage drinking.

  On Aug. 6 joined other area law enforcement agencies in handling an underage drinking party in Lincoln.

  On Aug. 7 tried unsuccessfully to find a motorist who drove off from Champlain Farms without paying for gas.
