ADDISON COUNTY — On Wednesday, June 27, at 6 a.m., Vermont State Police in conjunction with the U.S. Marshal Service executed a search of a residence in Salisbury. They found the target of the search — Jamal Hall, 35, of Troy, N.Y. — hiding inside the residence.

Hall was wanted on multiple felony warrants out of New York state. The Associated Press reported that Hall was a member of the Bloods street gang.

Police took Hall into custody without incident. During the arrest Hall was discovered to be in possession of heroin. He was subsequently charged as a fugitive from justice and possession. The warrants from New York were charging him with possession of a firearm, assault, criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and parole violations.

In other recent activity, VSP:

• On June 26 at 8:11 a.m. received a report of a two-car accident on Route 53 in Leicester. Police said Peter L. Osler, 56, of Oak Park, Ill., was driving a 2003 Audi A4 southbound on Route 53 that Tuesday morning. Unfamiliar with the area and looking for a driveway in which to turn around, he allegedly put on his right-turn signal and turned left into a driveway.

VSP reports that Kyle T. Abrahamovich, 35, of Shelburne was following the Audi in a 2005 Toyota 4-Runner and tried to pass on the left and the two vehicles collided. Both vehicles sustained minimal-to-moderate damage. There were no injuries.

Both drivers were issued written warnings — Osler for not using the proper signal, and Abrahamovich for limitations on passing.

• On June 25 responded to a complaint that someone had forced entry into a home in the Hunt Road neighborhood in New Haven and stolen several pieces of jewelry, a computer and cash. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the VSP.

• On June 27 reported that they had cited Krystle Clarke, 29, of Rochester on a criminal count of driving under the influence on Route 125 in Hancock on June 11. Police said that on the night of the crash, blood was drawn from Clarke and sent to the Vermont Forensic Laboratory for analysis. On June 25, the VSP received the blood test results, which showed Clarke’s blood alcohol content to be in excess of the legal limit of 0.08 percent. Clarke was processed for the offense at the Royalton VSP barracks on June 27 and issued a traffic ticket for driving with an expired license.

• On June 27 at approximately 4:55 p.m. responded to a reported one-car crash on Route 53 at the intersection of Route 7 in the Town of Salisbury. Police reported that Devan Corliss, 19, of Brandon was driving a 1997 Audi A4 southbound on Route 7 and then turned east onto Route 53, began to slide and collided with the guardrails on the south side of Route 53. Senior Trooper Pregent reported that Corliss was not wearing his seatbelt and hit his head on the rear view mirror, and he sustained a possible concussion. Pregent said speed and defective equipment were factors in this crash. VSP would like to remind everyone to wear seatbelts.

• On June 28 at approximately 10:12 p.m. received a report from a Bristol resident that his car had just been stolen from his garage and was last seen traveling west on Route 17. Trooper Joe Szarejko and Bristol police officer Ken Marcelle attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled and a pursuit ensued. According to Trooper Szarejko, speeds reached approximately 80 mph. The driver of the stolen car lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole, shearing it in half. After being treated at Porter Hospital, Jacob Bachand, 20, of Leicester was taken to the VSP barracks in New Haven where at 12:30 a.m. his blood alcohol content was tested at 0.151 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent. Bachand was later lodged on charges of grossly negligent driving, attempting to elude police, speeding and driving under the influence. VSP said charges of burglary and driving without the owner’s consent are pending.

Police charged Richard with DUI.

The tractor was driven by Jonathan Audy, 42, of Addison. Barcomb’s 2005 Subaru Legacy collided with the bucket of the tractor resulting in major damage to the entire right side.
