STARKSBORO — For the second time, 13-year-old Connor Norland has chosen to celebrate President Barack Obama’s election by shaving his head.

In 2008 the Starksboro youth shaved his entire head and donated his hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

When Obama won re-election last week Norland had a decision to make. Echoing his candidate, he said, “It’s time for me to move forward too.”

Unfortunately Norland’s hair was not long enough to be donated this election cycle. So he opted to shave the sides of his head, leaving him with a classic Mohawk.

When asked how he would have acknowledged a Romney win, Norland said, “I would refuse to cut my hair until the next Democrat was elected as president.”
