MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Dong Yub Song, 22, of Middlebury for sexual assault, following an investigation on the Middlebury College campus on May 13. He was released on conditions pending his arraignment at the Addison County Courthouse on Monday, May 13.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Responded to a larceny complaint at a Commodore Way residence on May 6.

•  Got mental health counseling for a local man who had allegedly threatened to harm himself with a knife on May 7.

•  Investigated a report of a man harassing people through text messages on May 7.

•  Were informed of the theft of a bicycle and some ski gear from a garage on Drew Lane on May 7.

•  Received a report that someone had vandalized some equipment at the Champlain Construction gravel pit off Case Street on May 7.

•  Served a no-trespass order on May 8 on a man who was not wanted at an Exchange Street residence.

•  Responded to a report on May 8 about a car missing from a Case Street residence.

•  Spoke to the parent of two girls who had allegedly been lying on Case Street on May 9.

•  Responded to a domestic dispute in the Leno Lane area on May 9.

•  Investigated a reported break-in at the Earthwaste System headquarters on Case Street. Police said some unspecified items were taken from the building.

•  Received a report of a dispute between a man and woman in the East Main Street area on May 9.

•  Responded to a trespassing complaint at the Sugarwood apartments on May 10.

•  Responded to a noise complaint at a South Pleasant Street residence on May 10.

•  Went to the scene of a reported fight in the John Graham Court neighborhood on May 10. Police said there had been no physical fight, but rather a verbal confrontation.

•  Investigated a reported burglary at a Happy Valley Road residence on May 10. Police said jewelry and other small items were taken.

•  Took, into protective custody, a man deemed by mental health counselors as being out of control in the Lower Plains Road area on May 10. Police said they took the man to Porter Hospital for evaluation.

•  Turned over to Middlebury College Public Safety a very drunk student who had allegedly thrown a metal spoon onto College Street on May 10.

•  Served court diversion paperwork on a youth who had been drinking alcohol in the College Street area on May 10. Police said the youth was also served a no-trespass order for Two Brothers Tavern and was ticketed for having a fake identification card.

•  Responded to a reported retail theft in the Court Street area on May 11.

•  Investigated a report of a missing 8-year-old child in the vicinity of Shaw’s Supermarket off Washington Street on May 11. Police said a Middlebury College student found the missing child, who was returned to its mom.

•  Alerted Middlebury Fire Department officials to a fuel spill on Court Street that emanated from an Addison County Transit Resources bus on May 11.

•  Referred an emotionally distraught Cross Street resident to the Counseling Service of Addison County on May 11.

•  Investigated a one-vehicle rollover on Munger Street on May 11. Police said the driver sustained a minor injury.

•  Responded to a report of a drunken man resting on a parked car on South Main Street on May 11. Police said the man was drunk, was on Middlebury College campus for a Frisbee tournament, and told authorities he was going to sleep in the vehicle and not drive.

•  Served a no-trespass order on May 11 on a man who was not wanted at Two Brothers Tavern.

•  Warned a man who was violating the town’s open container ordinance on Adirondack View on May 11.

•  Served court diversion paperwork to an unruly Middlebury College student whom police determined to be in possession of alcohol in the College Street area on May 12.

•  Investigated reports of gunshots in the Creek Road area on May 12.

•  Assisted Bristol police in executing a search warrant in the North Pleasant Street area on May 12.

•  Responded to a larceny complaint in the Munson Road neighborhood on May 13.

•  Cited Adam T. Kent, 31, of Vergennes for driving under the influence, following a stop on Weybridge Street on May 13. Police responded to the area after receiving a report of a “possible intoxicated driver trying to get away from Middlebury College Public Safety.”
