MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police served a temporary restraining order on a man who had allegedly been involved in a domestic dispute with a woman at a Court Street residence on Oct. 29. Police said the female victim had been cut with a knife during the altercation. Authorities had not filed charges against anyone in the case as the Addison Independent went to press.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Received a report that someone had allegedly stolen some money from a resident’s room at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation on Oct. 28.

•  Cited Virginia S. Stewart, 49, of Bridport for retail theft, after she allegedly took a bottle of wine from the Middlebury Short Stop on Court Street on Oct. 28.

•  Cited Thomas M. Plantier, 26, of Bristol for simple assault, following a report of an altercation in the parking lot of Porter Hospital on Oct. 29.

•  Assisted in a truancy investigation at Middlebury Union High School on Oct. 29.

•  Ticketed a man for driving with a suspended license on Halladay Road on Oct. 29.

•  Were informed that someone had used a fake identification card in an attempt to buy alcohol at Hannaford Supermarket on Oct. 31.

•  Investigated a report of a man damaging his own apartment on Seminary Street on Oct. 30. Police said the man was drunk and was taken to Porter Hospital.

•  Received a report that someone had damaged a lock on a storage shed off Woodbridge Lane on Oct. 30.

•  Responded to a report of an illegal fire off Schoolhouse Hill Road on Oct. 30.

•  Took an emotionally distraught woman to Porter Hospital to receive counseling services on Oct. 30.

•  Assisted Porter Hospital officials in dealing with a disruptive patient on Oct. 30.

•  Were informed that someone had used a coat hanger in an attempt to enter a car parked on MUHS grounds on Nov. 1.

•  Investigated a Nov. 1 report of a local man being given a check to repair a vehicle, but not following through on the job.

•  Received a report about a frightened, disoriented woman at Greg’s Meat Market on Elm Street on Nov. 1. Police said the woman was taken to Porter Hospital.

•  Were informed that someone had broken a window on a Route 7 South building on Nov. 1.

•  Served a no-trespass order on a woman who had refused to leave Two Brothers Tavern on Nov. 1. Police said the woman was turned over to a sober friend.

•  Responded to a noise complaint in the Seymour Street area on Nov. 1.

•  Responded to an alleged assault at the Memorial Sports Center off Buttolph Drive on Nov. 2. The matter remains under investigation, according to police.

•  Responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident, with injuries, on Route 125 east on Nov. 2.

•  Arranged for rescue officials to transport an elderly, drunken woman to Porter Hospital on Nov. 2.

•  Recovered two stolen children’s bikes and returned them to their owners on Nov. 2.

•  Responded to a report of loud music coming from the Charles Avenue area on Nov. 2.

•  Were informed of the alleged theft of a Chevrolet truck from a Seymour Street residence on Nov. 2.

•  Received a report that some items had been stolen from a vehicle parked off North Pleasant Street on Nov. 2.

•  Were informed that a fox had chased a woman in the Washington Street neighborhood on Nov. 2. Officers were unable to locate the fox.

•  Served court diversion paperwork to a minor in possession of alcohol on College Street on Nov. 2. Police also ticketed the individual for littering and a bicycle violation.

•  Arrested Thomas Husk, 55, of Middlebury for violation of his conditions of release (not to consume alcohol) on North Pleasant Street on Nov. 2.

•  Warned a North Pleasant Street tenant whose loud party was in violation of the town’s noise ordinance on Nov. 2.

•  Served court diversion paperwork on an underage Middlebury College student who was in possession of alcohol on Mill Street on Nov. 2.

•  Assisted Middlebury College Public Safety in serving a no-trespass order on a man who was not wanted on campus on Nov. 3.

•  Arrested, on an outstanding warrant, Kathleen Wright, 56, of Middlebury on Nov. 3. Police said Wright was wanted for failure to appear at Caledonia County court.

•  Received a report about a possible Craigslist scam on Nov. 3.

•  Found two drunken people in a parked vehicle off College Street on Nov. 3. Police made sure that neither person was going to drive the car.

•  Cited Benjamin Couston, 26, of Shoreham for driving under the influence, following a stop on College Street on Nov. 3.
