MONKTON — Vermont State Police are investigating a rash of thefts across two counties in the early hours of Jan. 13 that targeted both homes and vehicles.

The thefts in Monkton occurred on Pond Road, Boro Hill Road, Parks Hulburt Road and Old Stage Road. The Charlotte burglary took place on Prindle Road. An unknown number of thieves stole change from unlocked cars, a Sirius satellite radio, a child’s school bag and multiple 5-gallon cans of fuel, police said.
Two of the 5-gallon cans were recovered by police in a wooded area on Pond Road in Monkton.
