JANICE WHEELOCK

ORLANDO, Fla. — Janice Wheelock of Orlando, Fla., passed away quietly at home with her family on Oct. 21, 2015. She was born Dec. 12, 1932, in Vergennes, Vt.

Janice spent her childhood growing up in Vermont and later moved to Bristol, Conn., with her husband, Robert Wheelock Sr., who predeceased her.

Janice retired from the Aetna Insurance Co. in Hartford, Conn. She spent time with her close friends, Betty and Agnes, often going to shows and dinner. She enjoyed playing slots, cooking for friends and family, traveling and spending time with her dogs.

GENEVIEVE BALDWIN

MIDDLEBURY — Genevieve Baldwin, 98, of Middlebury, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at Porter Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Colchester. 

She worked for General Electric and Middlebury College. After her retirement she volunteered at Porter Hospital and Round Robin Thrift Shop.

Survived by a daughter, Annette Cole; a son, William Bielawski from Middlebury; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Emilie Woodbury and Florence Yandow from Burlington.

CORNWALL — SandraLee Ann Berno, 63, died peacefully Tuesday morning, Oct. 20, 2015, after a long illness. Born July 1, 1953, in Montpelier, the daughter of Wendell and Irene (Roux) Berno.

WAYNE GODDETTE

VERGENNES — J. Wayne Goddette passed away Oct. 13, 2015, at UVM Medical Center with his family at his side.

 Wayne was born July 2, 1938, in Burlington to Marjorie (Paquette) and Durrell Goddette. Wayne graduated from Burlington High School in 1957 and was employed for 43 years at Goodrich Corp. as an engineer. He married Lorraine (Derway) Goddette on Sept. 25, 1965; they recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.

MARGARET SULLIVAN

MIDDLEBURY — Margaret Moulton Sullivan, age 88, died on Oct. 12, 2015, at her residence in Middlebury.

She was born on April 18, 1927, in Newton, Mass., the daughter of Jasper R. and Edith (Knight) Moulton.

ANDREA MICHAUD

BRANDON — Andrea Anne (Carrara) Michaud passed away unexpectedly Oct. 18, 2015.

Andrea was born on Oct. 8, 1957. She attended Rutland High School and graduated in 1975. She worked at Designer’s Boutique in Rutland, Turtle Green in Rutland, Shapiro’s of Brandon and Welcome Wagon. Andrea was very active as a “Thirty-One” Senior Consultant and Director in Vermont.

JAKOB MULCAHY

BRANDON — Jakob Patrick Mulcahy, 20, of Brandon died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born June 10, 1995, in Middlebury to Karla Rantanen and Patrick Mulcahy.

Jakob grew up in Brandon/Sudbury and graduated from Otter Valley Union High School in 2013. Jakob enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and dirt bike riding. He worked for Lake Region Landscaping in Hubbardton.

MARCEL PAGE

WHITING — Marcel R. Page, 87, died Oct. 16, 2015, at Wintergreen Residential Care in Brandon.

Born March 21, 1928, in Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Alderic and Alexina (Bourdon) Page.

Marcel was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a farmer operating two farms in Whiting, retiring in 1988. After retirement he started to truck cattle to pass the time.

Marcel enjoyed socializing with family and friends, farming and trucking.

JOSEPH SULLIVAN

PANTON — Joseph Michael Sullivan, 44, of Panton, loving son, brother, uncle and best friend to all, joined his family in heaven on Oct. 13 to spend eternity with his beloved father, and his best friends Bert & Ernie.

Due on May 10, Joe was born in Burlington, Vt., on June 8, 1971. He was one month late for his own birth. He was a proud graduate of the Vergennes Union High School Class of 1989, and served as the Student Council President, and member of the FFA.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
