Kenneth O'Meara

MIDDLEBURY — Kenneth “Bumpa” O’Meara, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, March 27, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.

There will be no visiting hours. A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ken’s memory may be made to the Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. The family would like to thank the dedicated and hardworking staff in the Lemon Fair unit of the nursing home. They took exceptional care of our Bumpa and cared for him deeply.

Ronald Selleck

MIDDLEBURY — Ronald Arthur Selleck, 72, of Middlebury died Monday, March 29, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, from a severe attack of pancreatitis. He was surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury. The Rev. William Beaudin, pastor, will be the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial, with military honors, will take place at a later date in Middlebury Cemetery.

Winston Leno

EAST MIDDLEBURY — Winston E. “Wink” Leno, 75, a lifelong resident of Middlebury, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at his home following a long illness.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, at Prospect Cemetery, East Middlebury, with the Rev. Jill Robinson, pastor, East Middlebury United Methodist Church, officiating.

Barbara Poquette

TROY — Barbara J. Poquette, 70, of Troy died March 20, 2010, in Barton.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at the First Baptist Church in Starksboro. Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Richmond.

She was born July 8, 1939, in Shelburne, a daughter of Ervin and Beatrice (Gaskin) Jennings.

Clara Bailey

DALEWOOD, Miss. — Clara Jean Gentry Bailey, 77, died peacefully and quietly Sunday evening, March 14, 2010, in the comfort of her home, at Dalewood, with her loving husband of 23 years, Roy, at her side.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Meridian, with the Rev. Tom Sykes officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in to the First Christian Church or to a charity of one’s choice.

She was born April 15, 1932, the daughter of late Robert L. and Clarinda Thornton Gentry of Meridian.

Diane Bauer

CUMBERLAND, R.I. — Diane P. (Taylor) Bauer, 80, of Cumberland and formerly of Middlebury, Vt., died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Emerald Bay Manor, Cumberland. She was the wife of Charles A. Bauer Jr.

RUTLAND — Wilma Lee Blanchard, 61, died suddenly March 12, 2010.

The memorial service “In Celebration of Her Life” will be celebrated Friday, March 19, at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Rutland. The Rev. Justin Baker, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in the family lot at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon.

PALM HARBOR, Fla. — Robert Levine, 84, of Palm Harbor died peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.

Services were held Tuesday, March 16, at Congregation Beth Shalom, 1325 South Belcher Road, Clearwater. Burial will follow in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater.

The family asks that contributions be made to Congregation Beth Shalom or to Suncoast Hospice.

Born in New York City, he spent his childhood in Brooklyn, and later moved to Patchogue, Long Island.

SHOREHAM — Wilson Gilmore MacIntire, 75, passed away at his home in Shoreham on March 14, 2010.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Shoreham.

He was born in Binghamton, N.Y., on Feb. 24, 1935, the son of Frank Edgar MacIntire Jr. and Maranda Bohn MacIntire.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid and free obituaries. Paid obituaries run just as submitted with a charge of $9.00 per column inch, and the editor shapes free obituaries to conform to our editorial style. We run photos of the person if they are submitted in a relatively high-quality format.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN - Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
