Larry Carl Russell

BRIDPORT — Larry Carl Russell of Bridport died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2011, at his home.

He was born Feb. 24, 1941, to Clarence Russell and Ida Olmstead and lived most of his life in Vermont.

He served in the Navy and attended night school at MIT in Massachusetts to become a field engineer for IBM. He worked at IBM until his retirement in 1990. Upon retirement, he stayed busy driving a school bus, delivering Meals on Wheels and working as a Brink’s security driver.

Kimberly Janeway Raymo

BRANDON — Kimberly Janeway Raymo, 50, of Brandon died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Burlington on Nov. 9, 1960. She was the daughter of Richard Arthur and Nancy (Kooman) Raymo.

She was a former resident of Brandon Training School. She was a resident of Brandon since 1999, having moved from Rutland. Her family says she enjoyed watching television, listening to music and camping with her care providers. She loved the swimming pool in the summer and the hot tub during the winter.

Ronald Oliver

WAKEFIELD, R.I. — Ronald Bryant Oliver, age 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, following a long and courageous battle with multiple complications of diabetes.

Ron was born in West Salisbury, Vt., on Jan. 28, 1936. He grew up in Vermont and graduated from Middlebury High School in 1955.

Rev. Dr. Robert A. Lee

BURLINGTON — The Rev. Dr. Robert A. Lee, 63, of Burlington died suddenly of a heart attack on Sept. 18, 2011.

He was born Oct. 4, 1947.

He served as a United Church of Christ (UCC) pastor for almost 40 years, most recently as senior minister at the First Congregational Church of Burlington for 19 years.

Gladys E. Hunt

BRISTOL — Gladys E. Hunt, 86, of Bristol died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester.

She was born June 2, 1925, in Bristol, the daughter of Dayton and Abbie Gove Dwire.

Her family says she enjoyed traveling to Connecticut to visit family and she also enjoyed spending the day at Project Independence in Middlebury.

She predeceased by her husband Lee C. Hunt in 1991 and by her four sisters: Velma Morgan, Retha Cameron, Norma Miner and Doris Sweet..

Chris Gebo

FAIRFAX — Chris Gebo, 36, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011.

He was born in Middlebury on Sept. 24, 1975, son of Susan Gebo.

His relative say he loved adventure, fast cars, boating, jet-skiing, motorcycles, and four-wheeling. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and followed them religiously.

Paul L. Cyr

MONKTON — A graveside service for Paul L. Cyr, 87, of Middlebury, who died March 19, 2011, will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Monkton Ridge Cemetery, across from the Monkton General Store.

Arthur F. Babcock

BRISTOL — Arthur F. Babcock, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury.

He was born Nov. 2, 1924, in Williston, the son of Henry and Frances Thompson Babcock.

He was employed at Middlebury High School for 25 years. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Bristol and Bristol American Legion Post 19. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Richard Walker Mallary

BROOKFIELD — Former Congressman Richard Walker Mallary, 82, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011. He was born in Springfield, Mass., on Feb. 21, 1929, the son of R. DeWitt and Gertrude Robinson Mallary. He moved to Vermont in 1942.

Shirley M. Moulton

FERRISBURGH — Shirley M. Moulton, 54, a longtime resident of Ferrisburgh, died unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, in Fletcher Allen Health Care of Burlington.

She was born on Oct. 26, 1956, in Burlington, the daughter of James V. and Beulah M. (Cassidy) Moulton, both of whom predeceased her. Her relatives say despite many physical obstacles, she was a devoted homemaker and an avid baker who loved country living. She enjoyed working in her garden and watching her birds and dogs.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
