MICHAEL P. RHEAUME

VERGENNES — Michael P. Rheaume, 69, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at Vergennes Residential Care Home.

He was born Dec. 6, 1944, in Vergennes, the son of Leonard and Harriet (Blaise) Rheaume.

He was member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. His family says he loved fishing, painting and crossword puzzles.

He is survived by three sons, “Beaver” Paquin, Christopher Wisell and Joe Rheaume; several grandchildren; four brothers, Leonard, Lewis, Peter and Robert; and three sisters, Madeline Blaise, Mary Thorpe and Debra Scott.

SARI BIKLEN

ORWELL — Sari Knopp Biklen, a resident of Orwell and former resident of Syracuse, N.Y., died on Sept. 16, 2014, at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington at age 68. The cause was complications from cancer.

ERNEST LACKARD

WEYBRIDGE — Ernest William Lackard Jr., 80, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

The memorial service “In Celebration of His Life” will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at 3 p.m., at the Leicester Church of the Nazarene.

A reception will follow in the church hall.

DEREK ‘SCOOBY’ REED

GOSHEN —Derek John Reed, know as “Scooby” to family and friends, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Middlebury on Dec. 17, 1974. He was the son of Norman and Madine (Brown) Reed. He grew up in Goshen and received his early education at Neshobe Elementary School in Forest Dale. He was a member of the 1992 graduating class at Otter Valley Union High School. While at Otter Valley he was a member of the wrestling team. He also played Little League baseball in his earlier years.

WILLIAM ROBINSON

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — William “Bill” S. Robinson, 81, of Las Vegas, Nev., died at Saint Rose Medical Center on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014.

He was born April 11, 1933, in Lincoln, Vt., and was the son of Madeline (Morgan) and Coral Robinson.

JEANNE ST. CYR

BRISTOL — Jeanne St. Cyr, 94, was born, raised and lived in Lowell, Mass., until she was 89. When her health failed she moved to Vermont to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Gerry Tetrault, in Bristol. Here Jeanne embraced her new life in the country but always remained, at heart, that city girl. Her courageous move from city life to country life at her age was admirable. Jeanne integrated herself into the parish life at St. Ambrose and the community life at Project Independence, which she loved as her second home.

CHRISTOPHER P. “KIP” SORRELL

VERGENNES — Christopher P. “Kip” Sorrell, age 56, of Vergennes, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Middlebury.

He was born Oct. 22, 1957, in Middlebury the son of Robert and Beulah (Collette) Sorrell.

He worked for 20 years as a boiler operator at Middlebury College.

PATRICK HUNT

BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Patrick J. Hunt, 73, of Brookfield, Conn., died Aug. 30 following a long illness. He was born March 8, 1941, in New York City, the second son of the late Patrick and Mary (Foley) Hunt, immigrants from Ireland.

MICHAEL KEITH

BRANDON — Michael Jerome Keith, 70, of Brandon died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Rutland on Feb. 11, 1944. He was the son of Francis L. and Frances H. (Pelkey) Keith. He moved to Brandon where he received his early education. He was a member of Otter Valley Union High School’s first graduating class in 1962.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid and free obituaries. Paid obituaries run just as submitted with a charge of $9.00 per column inch, and the editor shapes free obituaries to conform to our editorial style. We run photos of the person if they are submitted in a relatively high-quality format.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN - Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
