HELEN NOEL

BRANDON — Helen T. Noel, age 89, died Tuesday evening, April 26, 2016, surrounded by her family, at Mountain View Center in Rutland.

Helen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Dec. 16, 1926, to Joseph and Katherine (Giblin) Tracy. She was the youngest of five daughters. She married Dick Noel in Brooklyn in 1946. They settled on Long Island before moving to Brandon in 1965.

RUTHENA ZENO

STARKSBORO — A graveside service for Ruthena Zeno of Starksboro, who died Feb. 18, will be held Saturday, May 7, at 11 a.m. at Green Mount Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Starksboro, with the Rev. Larry Detweiler officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Starksboro Baptist Church.

ILA BLAISDELL BOWDISH

WEYBRIDGE — Ila Bowdish, age 94, of Weybridge passed away peacefully on April 17, 2016, at her home in Weybridge surrounded by her family. Ila is predeceased by her husband Edward Bowdish, Jr., of Weybridge, sisters Velma St. Jock and Lula Simonds, and her grandson Aron Bowdish.

Ila is survived by her sons Mark Drew and his wife Sally of Wolcott, Robert Bowdish and his wife Phyllis of Weybridge, Joseph Bowdish and his wife Alice of Oklahoma, Michael Bowdish and his wife Lisa of Salisbury.

ROBERT W. BRISSON

SHOREHAM — Robert W. Brisson, 91, died on April 16, 2016, at his home in Shoreham after a long and fulfilled life.

Born the second oldest of 8 children to Wilfred and Laura (Yandow) Brisson on November 5, 1924, he spent his early years on the family farm in Shoreham then joined the Army and served in World War II in Germany. After returning home, he met, courted and then married Doris Wimett in 1953. They farmed for the next 37 years while raising their family.

DARYL LOWRY

VERGENNES — Daryl Edmund Lowry peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side on April 14, 2016, at 82 years of age. He was the second son born to Hazen Lowry and Geraldine Forgrave Lowry of Sawyerville, Quebec, Canada, on Dec. 6, 1933.

SUZANNE MIEROP

GERMANTOWN, Md. — Suzanne Barbara Mierop died April 14, 2016, from cancer. The daughter of Abraham and Margaret Mierop, Susie grew up in New Jersey and moved to Vermont in 1969. She graduated from Mount Abraham Union High School and moved to Maryland and worked as a legal secretary.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and her flower garden.

Susie is survived by her daughters, Jackie and Jenifer; two granddaughters in Maryland; her mother; and brothers Bradley, Abe, David and John Mierop of Vermont.

She was predeceased by her father.

ORLANDO ‘LANDO’ MUSTICO

ORWELL — Orlando John “Lando” Mustico, 54, of Orwell entered eternal life on March 4, 2016, at UVM Medical Center.

He is survived by his partner, Charles Callahan; five brothers; and a sister.

Trained as an artist, Lando was a free spirit whose creativity enriched all who knew him.

A celebration of Lando’s life and memorial service will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in his hometown of Elmira, N.Y., on Saturday, May 7, at 11 a.m.

JUDY TRUDEAU

WEYBRIDGE — Judy A. Trudeau, 55, diedTuesdaymorning, March 29, 2016, at Crescent Manor Health Care in Bennington.

She was born Aug. 4, 1960, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., the daughter of Kenneth and Carmen (Dunklee) Lamb.

Judy was an outdoors enthusiast and also enjoyed animals, country music and spending time with her family.

 HANCOCK — Carl D. Torsnes, 72, of Hancock died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
