RICHARD LATTRELL

MONKTON — Richard Morgan Lattrell, born on May 16, 1940, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, with family by his side after a courageous but brief battle with cancer.

Richard enjoyed the outdoors, with hunting and fishing being a big part of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog (Little Bit).

CHARLES EINSIEDLER

SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Charles Einsiedler passed away Sept. 5, 2016, in Scarborough, Maine, just days shy of his 103rd birthday. Born on his family’s small farm in Stirling, N.J., on Sept. 29, 1913, to Stephanie Ruegg Einsiedler and Charles Einsiedler who had emigrated from Switzerland.

RAYMOND BODETTE

WEST ADDISON —Raymond “Bud” Bodette Jr., 83, passed away after a short illness on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 surrounded by family.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1933 in West Addison. He was the son of Raymond H. Bodette Sr. and Rose (Field) Bodette.

He graduated from Vergennes High School, and married Alice Tucker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He returned to West Addison where he worked with his father on the family farm, and continued to farm with his sons until he retired. He always grew a large garden and shared with others.

THERESA STEELY

LOUISVILLE, Ky./ MIDDLEBURY — Theresa Carmen Shambo Steely, 90, of Louisville, Ky., joined her loved ones in Heaven on Sept. 6, 2016.

Theresa was born on March 13, 1926, in Middlebury to the late George and Ada Shambo.

She graduated with honors from Middlebury High School in 1944, then attended Mildred Elly Secretarial School. Theresa was a faithful contributor to her family, church and community. She was a devoted and loving wife, Momma and Mimi and was a blessing to all who met her. She will be truly missed by many.

JOSEPHINE CATHERINE MCELROY

BRISTOL — Josephine Catherine (Doyle) McElroy passed away peacefully while holding her husband’s hand on Aug. 23, 2016. For many years she had lived with Parkinson’s disease, a condition that left her a shadow of her former vivacious self.

Josephine’s death leaves her family with both sadness and relief. As she herself often quoted, “good news, bad news, who knows?”

DAVID FARR

MIDDLEBURY — David E. Farr 76, passed away Sept. 3, 2016, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

He was born April 3, 1940, in Middlebury, the son of Eugene and Beatrice (Wood) Farr.

David was a graduate of Shoreham High School class of 1958, and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He married Marilyn Andrews on Aug. 13, 1974.

David had worked as a mechanic for many years for Foster Motors in Middlebury, retiring in 2005. He took a part-time job at Number One Auto delivering auto parts around the Middlebury area.

ANNA MARIE BOOSKA BOTSFORD

WELLS — Anna Marie Booska Botsford, 33, of Wells passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 26, 1983, in Vergennes, the daughter of Larry and Betty (Pierce) Booska.

She grew up in Vergennes, where she enjoyed photography and loved being on the beach.

Survivors include her husband, Shawn Botsford, whom she married May 8, 2010; her son Tyler Booska, both of Wells; her parents both of Middlebury; three nephews; several aunts and uncles.

She was predeceased by her sister Robin Pierce in 2014.

MARY REYNOLDS

MIDDLEBURY — Mary Rogers Reynolds passed away peacefully Aug. 25, 2016, at Mountain View Care Center in Rutland. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1923, she was a graduate of Cornell University.

During the War, she worked on defense projects at Woods Hole Marine Institute, where she met Carl Reynolds, whom she married in 1947. They began a family which grew to seven children over the next ten years, and made their home in several different locations in New England, moving as Carl’s job with IBM required.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
